We've been to the Briarhurst before and it was slightly above average, with a kind of NPR-ish feel. But last night we had one of the best meals we've ever had. My husband got the elk loin and I had the scallops. Everything from the presentation to the flavor was just superb. Our highest compliments to the chef.

My wife and I visited for Valentine's Day 2017. We had never been before, but it was rated highly on a list of Most Romantic spots on this very site, so we figured it was worth a shot. Though a bit on the expensive side, the romantic locale and decor made this a very memorable Valentine's Day dinner. A six-course... More

We just finished a wonderful 5-course dinner celebrating our 42d Anniversary. The food and service were spot on. Yes, it was not cheap, but it was every bit as good as we remembered from when we ate there soon after it opened as a fine dining restaurant in 1975. We think it's a good choice for a very special occasion.

The meals at the Briarhurst Manor are second to none. The chef takes extra care in preparation and presentation. The servers are extremely attentive to the guests. You will depart the Briarhurst having enjoyed an exception evening in a one of a kind setting.

My husband and I had dinner at this beautiful restaurant. It is an converted manor. There were several small intimate dining areas. Denny our server along with the 2 ladies that assisted him were great. Our food was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is great for a romantic special evening.

We were celebrating my birthday at Briarhurst Manor. We share a shrimp cocktail. It was just one shrimp cut into small pieces with lots of sauce topped with some greens. Nice presentation, but I would prefer more than one shrimp for an appetizer. The salad was pretty with its own bowl made from sliced cucumbers and carrots. The dressing drizzle... More

Finding the entrance was a bit tough and parking in the ice wasn't the best, but once we got in it was a beautiful interior and fantastic service. We ordered the escargot, filet, salads, and one of the best Creme Brûlées we've ever had. All of it was very good except the escargot - it was okay, but definitely not... More

We love the Briarhurst and eat here every other month often spending close to $300 a night. Normally we have a wonderful, romantic dinner with delicious food and great service. So we decided to reserve a table for the New Year's Eve Champagne dinner. Our food and service was wonderful as expected (we love their chef). Our only issue was... More

My wife and I went to the Briarhurst for the New Year's Eve special menu. I had checked out their on-line wine list but found nothing well rated, expensive or otherwise, so decided to just drink by the glass. The Merlot I ordered was cheap and satisfactory. I had the Lobster Bisque for my starter and I think it may... More

Avoid this establishment if you are Africian American...very prejudice. The food was very good, however, we ignored and treated like second class citizen.
