Once the altitude settles in and you're feeling up to eating, the Pioneer Inn offers a decent burger and fries. They're a little on the smaller side but pretty tasty, as are the fries. The atmosphere and the knowledge of what went on here 40+ years ago is what really counts. It's an interesting spot in a fantastic setting. Grab... More

1st time to the Pioneer Inn 20 min to get water, and waited up to 55 minutes for a simple lunch. Never got it so we left along with others who had grown tired of waiting. This Bar is a perfect candidate for John Taffer of Bar Rescue

Very old building in Nederland, we used to go there 50 years ago to drink and party. Same place, no updates or redecorating apparent. Very rustic, but the food was really good. Bar type food. Fish & Chips, etc. Friendly personnel, VERY slow service. We were not in a hurry but if you are, don't go here. We had the... More

This place has been visited by numerous bands and legends who came from the famous Caribou Ranch recording studio to grab some grub, have a few beers and impromptu jam sessions back in the day. Food is good, beer is cold and the atmosphere and employees are just friendly. Nederland is small and a fun mountain town, they even have... More

Loved the history of the Pioneer Inn (at one time it was a bowling alley along with a few other things!) and the food was soooo GOOD! My husband and I along with our two teenage kids enjoyed this restaurant. My daughter is a veegan and completely enjoyed her options (many restaurants don't have veegan options). My husband and other... More

For a brief history, the Pioneer Inn (the "PI") was established long before I moved from Longmont to Nederland in the 1960s. Then, the PI was owned by the Gabor and Eva Cseh whom served real Hungarian goulash, with refills for those that asked. The PI has changed ownership twice since the Cseh's, once in 1972 and again this year.... More

The food was good, the beer was cold, what a great way to spend an afternoon. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting places to visit in the area.

How sad that something has changed here. We loved coming for the burgers and fries. This latest visit was a disappointment! Burgers were overcooked, smaller than the dry bun and the fries were are larger cut than before. Wait staff is always friendly but we won't be returning. Too bad!

When you walk in you might question if good place to eat, we almost walked out thinking more of bar versus restaurant. We decided to stay. They have a very large diverse menu. I had taco and enchilada and quite authentic. We had seven people and all but one enjoyed their food. The nut brown beer was delicious. Waitress was... More
