Delightful and hard to fault, this pub is always welcoming, with an imaginative menu at fair prices - main courses £10-15 - and the food is always excellent. Top quality real ales too. Well worth the diversion...

Excellent Sunday lunch. The food was really good , I had Catalan fish stew as recommended by the barman which definitely didn't disappoint. We were made very welcome by friendly staff and will certainly return.

As a pub, the place is good. Traditional with half a dozen barrels of beer on the counter behind the bar - lovely. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The problem was with our food experience, which is why we visited. We had seen an...More

Thank you for your response. We do have a new chef & this was their first time on their own. The suet puddings you refer to were certainly not up to the usual standard and you should have been offered another choice. The pork &...More

When I arrived at this pub it struck me as the sort of place fairies or dwarfs might hang out on their day off. Massive amounts of character and cosy nooks and crannies, I was over the 'moon' to find on a chilly May day...More

Keith It was a treat to welcome you again on Sunday. I could see you loved the roast. I have to say we do lovely roast dinners - the trick is buying the best meat. Hope to see you again soon

The Moon and Mushroom is a quaint 16th century Inn. It is believed it was used as a staging post for prisoners being deported to the Colonies from the Ipswich Assizes. This beautiful old Pub was featured by Sky News all day during the Jubilee weekend and we were chosen from all of East Anglia to light the Rural Beacon which was televised nationally and internationallyThe Moon and Mushroom has won The Best Country Village Pub for Food and Drink on 2 separate occasions.Real Ale from small East Anglia Micro Breweries is served straight from the Tap Room and our varied menu is all locally sourced and cooked here on the premises. This is a fabulous old pub with no juke box, one armed bandit or television
