What a pleasant midpoint lunch surprise in route from Denver to Telluride. Portions are plentiful and prices are reasonable.

We stayed nearby at the fabulous Poncha Lodge, and had breakfast at Tony's. I had a breakfast burrito that was FAR superior to any I had ever had. A small friendly eatery where the locals go for great food.

Simple and plain as they come....folding chairs etc but really great food. Tony was a delightful one man show as well. What a pleasant midpoint surprise in route from Denver to Telluride. Portions are plentiful and prices are reasonable!

What a find. Don't judge the place from the outside. It's small but what great Mexican food, great service from Toni himself.

The best description of Ton's Restaurant is super good Mexican food. Couldn't ask for better tacos. The taco shells were thin and crispy, the meat was perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered 4 tacos de came as ads. They came with a special home made salsa that was fabulous! This is not a fancy restaurant and it doesn't need to be.... More

We stayed nearby so came for breakfast, tho we almost left because they opened a bit late. The coffee & bacon were decent but everything else was white & bland & unsatisfying. My pancake couldn't have been less tasty, the fake maple syrup particularly watery, the fried eggs almost pasty-looking, hashbrowns the shredded chain-bought type. So hopefully the reviews are... This is a very simple independent restaurant, with good basic Mexican food. The restaurant is located west of all the highway intersections, on the way to Monarch Pass. It is definitely a local haunt. Given the poor choices in the area, this place rates pretty high.

I live in New Mexico and have yet to find a Mexican restaurant that I want to eat at repeatedly. Wish I lived closer to Tony's! Actual refried beans! Super salsa! I even bought some to take home. My husband and I had enchiladas one time and burgers and fries there the next. All were great. I will definitely eat... More

At 1 pm Tuesday, 4 November 2014, they were closed-lights off and devoid of any activity. Went to Mimi's instead. Really wanted to try based on two current reviews on TripAdvisor.

As stated below, it's not much to look at from the outside and is right next to the Shell Station but if you're there during their operating hours 8-4 when I looked yesterday, it's a fine option for a plate of southwestern style Mexican food.
