Also known as the Grand Hotel Saloon, we stopped by for a bite while taking the Durango Silverton Steam Train which has a 2 hour layover at its turnaround. The day was cold, damp with a little wet snow falling. Many of the establishments in town had not yet opened for the season. Hearing some old time piano ragtime being... More

We loved this place. The service was wonderful. Best BLT of my life thus far! They had a piano player dressed in period attire. The hotel is authentic looking. We would go back again anytime. Great spot for lunch while in silverton on the train.

I tried to find the restaurant on Trip Advisor that is within this hotel, but it is not listed. But I am sure that someone has reviewed it already since it is a prime tourist destination if you ride the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway. The Grand Imperial is one of the places in Silver to stay or eat or both.... More

Really cool bar with intricate wood work. Big and open with a huge projector which was great for watching bowl games! However, their rocky mountain oysters weren't the best I've had.

We ate dinner here on our first night and it was fantastic. The trout was nicely done and the fried pickles were great.

Nice historic bar and great staff. I ordered a cheese burger for lunch and it was one of the best, juicy flavorful burgers I have ever had. My wife ordered the taco chicken salad and loved it. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner when we heard they were having their cheese burger specials night. We... More

The atmosphere was unique; the piano player was taking requests; the food was good. All added up to an enjoyable time!

Popped into Grumpy's at lunchtime on a visit to Silverton. The bar and restaurant offers a great atmosphere which meets you at the door with the piano player's rag-time music sounds. My wife and I sat at a table for two next to the player and enjoyed our beers and food whilst people watching. A most enjoyable lunchtime experience.

We stopped at Grumpy's when we reached Silverton on the steam train. It was the end of the season, so the town was winding down, but Grumpy's sure wasn't! The piano player was great, and added to the old time atmosphere and decor. We had the French Onion soup and a salad.....not exceptional, but we had no complaints. The owner... More

Stopped there after the train ride from Durango. Great piano player and very nice atmosphere - not grumpy at all :-) Good food at a reasonable price. Lot's of options to eat at in Silverton would suggest Grumpy's as a great choice.
