Arrived mid-week, off season on a windy snow showery day. Most of the businesses in town were closed. Glad to find the Pickle Barrel open for business with a toasty coal fired stove warming the interior. A few others dining and seated promptly. Service was quick and friendly. Enjoyed a tasty reuben, partner ordered a corned beef sandwich also very... More

We took a trip on the RR to Silverton and had the break for lunch. While everyone seemed to flock to the closest places to where the train unloaded, we walked a little further the the town's main drag. there we found the pickle Barrel restaurant. the ambiance was nice, the Reuben sandwich and fries were great, the prices were... I live in Durango and used to eat here whenever in Silverton, but never again. The incredible rudeness and lack of compassion for a special needs child in our group by the waiter, or perhaps the owner, was intolerable.

What a beautiful building and restaurant. The owner was soooo nice! Our waiter was new and was so charming, funny and friendly. I have a gluten allergy and was made sure I knew the kitchen was at risk of cross contamination however they made a nice adjustment for my dietary needs. My burger was great, my son got the steak... We took a day's drive to sight see (from Farmington, NM) Durango and went further to Silverton. We have taken the train ride before (in October) but decided to see the views after a snow fall. We stopped in Pickle Barrel for a shared lunch. We were able to sit by the fire and share the Rueben paired with a... More

Great food, awesome service, great owners. I have always loved this place. This restaurant has been around for a very long time, the building was built back in 1880 and started out as a saloon. I will definitely eat here as much as I can.

Stopped for lunch. The restaurant is housed in a charming historic building. A family run establishment offering tasty food and friendly service. Well worth a try.

My friends and I came in for lunch and were greeted and seated right away. The waiter was super friendly and our food came quickly. Prices were decent and the food was delicious. I loved the old building and the history of the place. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Yep, this is located in the first stone building ever built in Silverton at the time of the silver rush. You can tell its age by the low ceiling. At lunch, we find it busy and inexpensive. It's good for a quick lunch on the go. Bar choices very limited. **

Description
The Pickle Barrel Restaurant is one of the longest continually running restaurants in Silverton, Since 1971! The building is also one of the oldest masonary builings on the western slope of Colorado. We encourage everyone to come check it our and the bar in the back, with its eklectic feel. It may be one of the oldest restaurants here in Silverton, but the menu changes often with summer dinner specials changing weekly with a nice gourmet feel. Make sure to see what we have in the winter.

Check next door for Ice Cream, expresso and now soaking in Silverton!
