This venue looks great and is in the same building as an interesting shop - but it is CLOSED IN WINTER. So my rating is not complete, I will visit it again in Summer and probably change my rating - but for now, I was there and they were not, so how can I give it a good rating?

We have eaten here twice, both times at the end of their season (mid-October). It is absolutely the best restaurant in Silverton with the best food and ambiance. The staff is always super friendly and ready to chat about anything and everything. If you're there when it's cold out, try to get a table near the fire. I had the... More

The chicken fried chicken was good and smothered in white gravy. The service was ok and we felt rushed. The cool atmosphere does ,not make up for average tasting food and the guest service is lacking. I think they are tired of tourists and it shows in their attitude and the average quality of food

We eat there every time we are in Silverton. Great food and good people. If you have someone with you who has a Handlebar mustache--DON"T MISS IT!

The atmosphere and decor is incredible.... From the animal heads mounted all around to the antiques and historical newspaper clippings, you will impressed as you step back in time the historic setting of Silverton CO. The food , on the other hand, was nothing special. They described their prime rib on the menu as " so tender you won't need... More

Place was packed. We chose this restaurant because the Brown Bear was closed this day. Service was poor. Waitress was very inattentive. Food was average. We had trouble getting refills on drinks and a nice bus boy helped us. The restaurant reflected the culture of Silverton but the service did not.

It was well worth the wait to get in to eat at this restaurant. The restaurant was crowded but we had excellent service and didn't have to wait long for our food. There is lots of fun things to see on the walls.

Terrific place for a quick lunch. Menu is quite varied - lots of burgers, buffalo chili (excellent), soups, sandwiches. Servings are generous & they are gracious about requests to split a serving (no extra charge & they brought dishes for sharing!) It is crowded when the Durango-Silverton train comes in and the train passengers all get off and look for... More
