Ladies up front that day were very helpful and knew exactly where to find whatever I was looking for. They also were very knowledgeable about the books I was getting!

While in Steamboat Springs, we walked around town until we could check into our hotel room, and discovered this great little coffee shop and bookstore. the coffees were good and hot, and they also had some delicious looking pastries in the case. Definitely check out this place!

Better coffee than milk run, but barely. Both ordering cappuccinos, we both received lattes as they were not nearly foamy enough. We politely asked the barista, who confirmed that those were cappuccinos. Espresso here is also really bitter. For better coffee, try The Ristretto or Starbucks. One positive was that the woman at the front help desk was really inviting... More

Emily, I'm disappointed that our barista didn't offer to remake your drinks and attempt to make a cappuccino to your liking. You deserved no less. We are reviewing the making of our coffee drinks with our baristas today, and especially emphasizing that the behavior you experienced from our bookseller at the front desk is the behavior you should find from... I am a coffee junkie. This place is head and shoulders above Starbucks. Do yourself a favor and stop for a coffee and buy a book while you are there. I love small business' and this is one of the best.

Excellent book collection- new and used. Coffee, espresso, tea, drinks while you read and relax. We wouldn't visit Steamboat without going to this place.

This is a great little cafe to grab a coffee or read the paper, surrounded by books. The staff are friendly and the coffee and tea are good. There are only three tables on the shop floor, but there's some extra seating upstairs. We had the most delicious banana blueberry muffins, fresh from the oven. Take headphones if you need... More

We'd stayed in Steamboat Springs back in 2001 on our first trip to Colorado and the coffee shop at Off the Beaten Path was one of the places we had breakfast on our first trip. Pleased its still open and doing well. (We were also huge fans of Mocha Mollys which sadly closed a few years back). Lovely book shop... More

Were thrilled to discover this great little store. Lots of carefully chosen items, as well as coffee and gifts and a place to sit and talk with a friend over coffee. Must go again.

Kudos to the owners/manager! A visit here is a must! I take the grandkids here for books every time I'm in Steamboat. And then I visit on my own when they are in school. For such a small storefront, they pack in a very nice selection of books and book related small gifts, taking care to organize the merchandise well.... More

It's the perfect size for Steamboat. They cram a lot of current and best-selling books into a small space, as well as cool gifts and trinkets for any member of your family. The have a lot of guest speakers come into town for book signings and talks, too. It's a great little community space. They offer coffees and teas, as... More
