Wide variety on menu. Excellent service. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Great view of the creek running through the middle of Vail. The tomato appetizer was devine!!

I like to think of myself as adventurous with entrees, but some of the dishes were just plain weird. And prices are some of the highest in Vail Village

Located right at the heart of Vail, with a little river aside. Very pleasing for lunch. Crowded restaurant. I ordered a trout dish, which was good. Fresh fish and fresh ingredients in my plate. Attention from personal, excellent. Prices around $15 per main course. A...More

If you are a foodie, this a must stop on your Vail culinary adventure. The menu is very creative, and I enjoyed the variety. My partner did not, however, which created a bit of a challenge. We both thoroughly enjoyed the shaded porch and view...More

We have visited Vail for the last 3 years at this time of year and for the previous 2 years the Mountain Standard has set the standard for food in Vail amongst prestigious competition. Tonight was a fiasco. We had invited friends who had never...More

Good food . Summertime patio is beautiful looking at river and park. Can be very noisy in winter . Often drafty in winter due to staff leaving door to underground parking garage open . A nice place overall with good staff.

Low key decor, huge bar, non-pretentious place. Simple menu with no bad selections. Creative but not fancy-shmancy.

Best pimento cheese I’ve ever had! Wanted to go back again just for that!!!Should’ve skipped the biscuit though. Crumbly and the ham was filled with gristle. Definitely not worth the price tag for the price. Even our waitress warned us about how undersized it was....More

Very foofey sauces and rich tasting. No air-conditioning and felt like a greenhouse with the setting sun. Definitely expected more based on internet praises.

“Wow” is the word for our culinary experience at MS in heart of Vail Village. We had the marrow bone appetizer, the Caesar-ish celery root salad, corned pork shank and the rotisserie chicken. Everything was gorgeous to look at and divine on the palate. The...More

I would doubt it if they could handle a large group. It is a very busy restaurant in a tight space.

From the creators of the legendary Sweet Basil in Vail Colorado, comes a fresh, innovative new restaurant. Aptly named Mountain Standard, this rustic and relaxed tavern aims to set a new standard in the Vail valley by using an ancient form of cooking. The majority of Mountain Standard’s menu is prepared via the most primal cooking method: over an open and live wood fire. The only restaurant in the valley to devote themselves to this age-old way of cooking, the food at this exciting new restaurant has rustic, bold and honest flavors, focusing on the purest ingredients in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.Service, like the cuisine, has that perfect balance of providing a first class dining experience with a more casual vibe. There is no smoke and mirrors here – no fuss – just simple, honest, from the heart service and cooking. The beauty of the creek side location is mirrored by the high energy vibe of this dynamic restaurant. It is this energy, outstanding service, and hand crafted food that enables Mountain Standard to offer a truly unique dining experience, approachable and enjoyable to everyone.
