If you've not been to the Alpenrose, you'll have nothing to compare with. but, having gone there for years, we notice a downward trend in quality of food, service and value. We miss the brat and beer lunch special. If it's your first visit, you won't know the difference and will probably like it. We lived in Germany for 32... More

We had an incredibly delicious lunch, sitting on a beautiful patio on a sunny day at the Alpenrose. My wife is a native German and pronounce this restaurant to be authentic. We both love wheat beer and enjoyed having a tall glass, with a full head of foam. My wife chose the wienerschnitzel plate, while I ordered a bratwurst plate.... More

Nostalgic about the old school ski town restaurant with cozy mountain feeling and amazing food? Look no further than Alpenrose in Vail. Truly a Local's favorite! When the sun is shining the patio is great. When the snow is falling the quaint interior is inviting and makes you want to stay for another. Now to the food. This place is... More

Had dinner at Alpenrose. Tried the fondue. It was wonderful. Also had the French Onion soup. It was also delicious. While this restaurant is somewhat pricey I would go back again.

I went to Alpenrose with friends during a visit to Vail. The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. They have a pastry case that contains many delicious looking desserts. We tried a chocolate torte. I would definitely go there again.

We have never had a bad meal here. It is always a "must" when we visit Vail. Wiener schnitzel is our favorite.

Pastries delight! We needed an afternoon fix and this was wonderful. The Sacher Torte tasted devine. Service was o.k. It seems to be hit or miss with that. At $8.50 a piece, it's fairly pricey, so nice service is expected, so too bad is was not top notch. Next time we'll get the pastries, pick up a Starbucks and sit... More

This is such a great restaurant. We have been to Vienna and eaten amazing food while there and we are able to get that same great food here in Vail. They also have a pastry chef that is absolutely amazing. We bought 4 different desserts to take with us and they were all delicious. Everything we ate for dinner was... More

Four of us enjoyed a great lunch in their outside seating area Labor Day weekend. Service was friendly and on task. Everything we had from soups, to salads, to sandwiches was fresh and prepared well. We also enjoyed their specialty.....delicious pastries and apple struddle at the Farmers Market on Sunday.

We had dinner here on an August Saturday evening. We found the food bland and heavy. The service was just OK as our waiter was also the bartender and he was more engaged in his conversation with the single patron at the bar than with taking care of our table. The experience was not memorable, nor was the food. Still,... More
