We decided to meet for dinner at the bar. Great appitizer of Broccoli Rabe and sausage. Several nice dishes of chicken and veal. This restaurant offers real authentic Italian food. They also offer a good selection of Italian wines.
Over the top wonderful! From the time we were greeted by Candace; to the time we left--everything was absolutely perfect. Wine, appetizers, dinners, deserts. . . all four of us enjoyed every aspect of our meals. The restaurant was quiet; yet, it there were patrons...all enjoy their meals. My friend and I had tutte mare; the fish was excellent and the pasta was firm and fresh. My husband had gnocchi; or so he said as the plate was empty! And my friends husband had salmon which we tasted and was perfectly prepared medium rare. The chocolate mousse was light and fluffy; the cherry dessert unusual and delicious. We enjoyed having Candace as our server; and we loved having the owner Frank stop by our table to visit and chat with us. From start to finish everything at LaCupola was just perfect!More
Intimate it is not. Noisy like a banquet hall venue. Food was truly overrated, mediocre at best. The service was painfully slow and I will say bored rather than bad. The owner offered an after dinner aperitif and then charged us for it. No class....Will never return.More
If you like wonderful Northern Italian food. Look no futher... The pasta's are great! The Veal chop is to die for. It is a nice place for a family special dinner or a night out as a couple or with friends. They have a nice...bar that's very relaxed. Tell them you would like a glass of Punch. It is a delightful after dinner drink that is imported directly from Italy. Everything is done like your actual in Italy. Outside dining is really nice with a large fountain flowing in a the pond beside the resturant. We try to get there every chance we can. Please note once you eat there the other so called restaurants in the area will not be the same...More
This is a lovely place in the quiet town of Bantam, CT. One of our favorite places to go, the chef will do anything you want. We have ordered items not on the menu and they are happy to oblige. My husband has celiac and...has to be extremely careful where he eats, however La Cupola is very well versed in the proper preparation of gluten free meals. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. Reading a prior post, you can't be in a huge hurry for your meals (ever been to Italy.....?!?) This is a place to linger over wonderful authentic food. Franco, the owner, will likely visit your table and may sit down with a glass of wine and chat you up. Make sure you have a reservation as they can sometimes be busy on the weekends. Try the limoncello gelato for dessert - it's a religious experience!!More
The food was good Italian fare but nothing unusual or particularly original. The portions were generous, service was slow due to understaffing. I can't knock it but I can't rave about it.
The food was excellent; the chicken with spinach prepared perfectly. Saltimbocca had by a friend said to be delicious as was the chicken with eggplant; side choices are varied by palate. The desserts are all specials for the evening and were delicious most notably the...mandarin orange ricotta cheesecake.More
We have been to La Cupola twice so far & have completely enjoyed the experience. The food was plentiful and yummy. Service is very good. We plan on going back for Thanksgiving.
Friends from AZ came to visit and we went to La Cupola for dinner. Quick and attentive service. Very tasty food presented smoothly. Generous drinks and a fine wine list.
