Stopped here for lunch and thought the food was excellent - lots of choices, including vegetarian, and you won't leave hungry. Service was also excellent and very friendly. Very much a local hangout place
We get take out from here quite often and when the food is good it’s very good but that only happens 1 out of 4 times . They have really great wings but sometimes when we get them they are so over cooked you can’t...chew them. This could be a great place if they were more consistent.More
Stopped in for lunch, sat in the bar. The place is definitely from a different era, but it has a real charm. The menu was interesting enough, good BBQ, and they offered some really excellent beers on tap. All in all, a good experience, nice...waitress, priced fairly. A bit far for me, but when in the area I'll be back.More
Had to go to Emissions at quiet zone in Bantam. Decided to stop at woods on my way back. Hadn't been there in years. My wife is from seymour and has never eaten there before, so I wanted to get take out. The wings were...amazing. Would definitely return. The smoke flavor was tremendous. How they get such meaty wings..fantastic !!!More
Tried to phone in a order to go and had to leave a message (never returned) by the way. Stopped in had a beer at the bar and ordered pulled pork dinner to go. I should have ordered another beer and not the meal. The...meat was so dry and hard it must have been reheated two or three times. That's two strikes against them . Brisket was tough a few weeks back. Love the bar area but not enough to drive out of my way for.More
Absolutely the worst dining experience I have had in over a decade easily. If I I could rate this a zero I would. Every piece of meat was dry and microwaved. My brisket was literally like leather. Based on the other reviews I believe this...place barbecues and smokes all their meats on on the weekends and reheats it all week, including the French fries. The cornbread was stale and tasteless. The ribs and pulled pork crusty and dry, again microwaved. The burnt ends came cold in the middle. If you are not just microwaving the food how is that even possible at a bbq restaurant. Biggest disappointment. Disgusting. And the men's bathroom smelled like cat urine. GROSS. If you choose to still eat here consider yourself warned.More
My wife and I were looking for someplace a little more casual than the restaurants typically found around the area. We were pretty open to any kind of fare and their online menu appealed to us. We called her early to check to see if...they take reservations but they told us it was only for six people or more. Since we said it was only two of us they said "come on down!" :-)
We arrived around 6:30 p.m. and were immediately seated. The menu offered a lot more than the one shown online with lots of great choices. We did notice that they also offer a gluten-free menu if one desired. So many great choices!
My wife chose a well adorned salad while I had the quarter chicken and pulled pork platter. Both were delicious! Hint: choose the sweet potato casserole as one of your sides!
Our server was extremely nice and very efficient. The atmosphere was very pleasant as we even noticed strangers eating next to each other chatting amongst themselves. This hometown feel and quiet out of the way location definitely makes us want to come back for more!More
Nice little restaurant just off Bantam Lake with authentic slow cooked - wood fired food. Whether Mexican , BBQ or a burger all entrees will be tasty. I prefer a healthy BBQ salad with Gorgonzola dressing and Briquette on top with a couple glasses of...suds. Pulled pork, chicken tacos & enchiladas never disappoint my Bride. Always a cherry staff and great service. Place is quaint with a dinning room r you can sit at/or off the bar. Locally owned and the owners runs the wood pit most days. The food here is good and this place has a good reputation. Six of us came. The cheeseburger plate look pretty good and was plentiful. The wings are of a good size and worth getting. My disappointment was my dish, the mac and chese bowl...with brisket and the salad with brisket another had. One long on mac and cheese and the other on lettuce. What was shiort was the amount of brisket on both. Again, the food was good, but the brisket portion small. I would defientely come back but would have to do a little menu searching for a better experience.More
