Clean and with a complete menu of traditional favorites. Large variety of Banchan ( little side dishes ) served. Good service and freshly made. In a strip mall next to a Korean-Asian grocery store.

In my search for best Moolneangmeon, my daughter and I ended up here in East Hartford, one of my favorite eateries in USA. We had steamed dumplings; my daughter had Bulgogi. I had my Moolneangmeon which I have been craving. The noodle was of a "standard" buckwheat as opposed to an exotic Arrowroot, etc. Soup base was "white" raddish kimchie,... More

Drive by all the time so I finally stopped in. Everyone there was Korean which can only be a good sign. It says Asian food, but was strictly Korean (a good thing!). I got take out and and the bulgoghi (marinated and grilled beef) was good, but not great - it was kinda wet for my taste. The kimchi and... More

This is to partly what we have reviewed earlier; partly to state our opinion about Goong. First, their foods approximate what "Korean" grand mother would make for her family if they can afford to buy ingredients. However, there are enough refinements in their menu, After all, it is America. In sum, their foods tend to be traditional and yet presented... More

The restaurant is located in a drab, almost vacant shopping center. The decor of the restaurant is as drab as the surroundings. We were encouraged that the restaurant was relatively full of customers, many of whom appeared to be of Korean descent -- who would know better about Korean cuisine? We ordered an appetizer and two main courses. All were... More

My husband and I love good Korean food and frequently go to Flushing, NY for barbecue and other Korean specialties. We decided to try Goong one day for lunch. I ordered the pork belly barbecue. I should have realized when the waitress asked me if I'd ever had had it before, and then told me that it wouldn't be like... More

We have been coming to this establishment numerous time, over year. The establishment is located in a desolate and dead shopping mall, which meant that there was no parking issue and what we were about to eat would be less than expensive. There are two or three nicer looking “Korean” restaurants in the Central Connecticut but they are the usual... More

Stopped here again and had cold noodle soup special. Came with few slices of kalbi which was delicious. Soup was enough to share. Also had tang soo yuk (sweet and sour pork). Portion was huge, again plenty to share. Great value!

Stopped here for dinner and not disappointed. Tried Mulnangmeon (buckwheat noodle soup in ice cold broth). Very refreshing! Battered shrimp was very good but a bit too spicy for my taste. Whenever we come, they know that I rinse my kimchee, so bring dish of ice water! That is excellent service! Try the majolica (sparkling rice wine), rare to find... More

We have been to this restaurant many times & never disappointed. Ban cham (Side dishes) are fresh, and authentic, as I was told by an expert of Korean cuisine. dumplings are excellent and soups flavorful. Bib-Im-bap made with fresh ingredients. Some of the Koreanized Chinese foods are almost as good as those found in Flushing, NY or Los Angeles. Service... More
