Had a very nice lunch yesterday at this small friendly bar/cafe. Very friendly waitress for this little cafe. We ordered a special for the month of Mexican dishes. The chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. Served with beans and rice. Everything was excellent. We also had some homemade chips and guacamole that was also very good. We got there just about... More

I'm not in the area too often, but I've always found the Rustic a bit of a charmer. But this day was more of a downer... It was 2:30 pm...mid afternoon - quiet time, so one would think the service would be great - Wrong! Less then a dozen people in the place, sat down and had to wait for... More

We were there for dinner. Reasonable prices, great lobster, friendly people. Very small but cool, casual atmosphere. I highly recommend them!!

On a recommendation I tried the Rustic Cafe for lunch with my mom. They were out of steamed lobster and steamers. I had the lobster roll. It was very good. The waitress asked if I wanted to substitute for cole slaw, which i did. The bill added $1 for substitutes but she did not mention this. This kind of thing... More

I go to the Rustic all the time for lunch or dinner. Consistently good food which is why the place is always packed at peak hours. During peak hours you need to be patient. They have some of the best RI clear broth clam chowder I've ever tasted. Try their fried clam, shrimp or scallop baskets. Lobster roll is big... More

We read Joan Gordon's review of this café and thought it would be worth a try. I had the sirloin steak and Lorraine had the crab cakes, we both agreed that these were as good as we have ever had. Becky was behind the bar and also would serve the tables, she has a great personality and makes it a... More

I read about the negatives here and on Yelp yet I know I often have a different experience because I like to engage the bartenders and waiters. What a great meal: lobster sandwich, hamburger and corn bread. We loved it. Great people! Great food.

We have been back to the Rustic three times lately and am happy to say its still a wonderful jumble of people - some old hands, some new. Its unique in many ways, some which other reviewers didn't like, but I can't share their grumpy attitudes. Its not the Ritz, its the Rustic. You will be well served, not sucked... More

So we pulled up and there was no parking so we created a spot (parallel to the road as to not block the driveway as the sign directed). The outside looked rustic. We seated ourselves outside. The waitress was huddling from table to table. She was kind, friendly, helpful and very personable. We tried the Cracker Jack wings (really unique)... More

Description
The Rustic originally opened as a large restaurant, bar and dance hall. It was known to have the likes of Frank Sinatra stop by for an evening out. After a devastating fire, it was rebuilt in 1969 to its present, cozy size. Eccentric locals and summer tourists alike now enjoy the freshest seafood, ribs and renowned hamburgers paired with delicious cocktails in an open wood-beam atmosphere under the original iconic sign.
