An nice cozy place with friendly staff. Tables are little too close together so an intimate evening could well be shared by the table next to you. However, food was excellent would fully recommend the oysters, fois gras terrine, tartare de Boeuf and any of the fish dishes from trout to red snapper. Desserts not the best but the wine... More

I have dined at Le Pinguin numerous times over the last few years and never had a disappointing meal. In fact it's my husband's and my favorite place, whether it's just a casual dinner during a week, or a special celebration. In fact we just celebrated our wedding anniversary there. There is a variety of starters such as frisee aux... More

My friend and I dined here early in the week. The bistro's atmosphere was warm, pleasant, and casual, although the candlelight at our table shed so little light we could barely read the menus and had to rely on our phones to see the bill. The mussels in a saffron cream sauce were a delight and the accompanying frites crisp... More

Four of us stopped in for lunch. We were very pleased to find a reasonably priced assortment of lunch meals. I was quite impressed with a simple hamburger and my wife had an assortment of carefully and nicely prepared vegetables. While not normally a fan of French food, our meals were so good that we will return for a full... More

I went for the second time to Le Pingouin. The welcome was very nice and they seated us on a nice corner table. The room was full of beautiful people. We started with oysters and salad then we both had the medium rare Steak Frite witch haricots vert. They were super nice in bringing a birthday cake with candle. They... More

We went on a Sunday night and were shocked how crowded the restaurant was. I had thought Sundays would be slow. That was a testament to how good this bistro is = it is in the space of the great Jean Louis restaurant mainstay. We shared mussels for appetizers along with escargots. Very nice. Entrees were swordfish, snapper , veal... More

We met up with our family for a wonderful lunch in a very pleasant setting. The waiter was very good and didn't forget about us. I had an excellent Foie Gras, another had Frisée Salad, Escagot . All good choices. My Lunch size Mussels were plump and tasty and everyone else raved about their meal.

A lovely lunch with friends. The special omlettes were cooked perfectly. The cheeseburger was generous and just what he wanted. The tuna tartare was very good. The best thing...the spicey bloody mary!

My husband and I come here often. It's always a great meal. The food is excellent- get the side dish of peas, you won't be disappointed. We love the soups, salads, fish, steak, lamb, veal, scallops, really everything on the menu! The space is small and cozy and dimly lit. It's usually a fun, lively crowd, especially on weekend nights.... More
