It has been 10 years since a visit to Korea; a treat to enjoy some traditional food served with care and kindness.

I was pleasantly surprised that such a small town had a Korean/Japanese restaurant. We are from Los Angeles and eat at Korean restaurants at least once a week and at Japanese restaurants at least twice a week. My younger daughter loved the japchae which was...far less oily than we were used to. She thought it was the best japchae she's had. The mackerel was superb--the best I've had though I usually get atka mackerel in Los Angeles. Somehow this fish was cut so there were hardly any bones. It was perfection. The bibimbap and dumplings were great too. They had a ban chan dish that was new to me (I'm Korean) but so good we went two nights in a row. I think it might be Ueong jorim which I've never gotten at any of the Korean restaurants we frequent. It had such a deep flavor and interesting texture. The proprietors were very friendly. My other daughter only ordered cucumber rolls and sushi rice but they brought her gim which was very thoughtful and she enjoyed her meals. I recommend ordering the mackerel or other items over the usual Galbi or Bulgolgi. Next time, I would get the mackerel and try a soup.More

Having lived in Japan for several years, I am particular about Asian food and would regularly take a break from Japanese food by going to the best Korean restaurants in Osaka. Since coming back to the States many years I ago, it was something I...missed. Namoo's quality is consistently good across the board and it's simply amazing to find a Korean restaurant of such quality in sleepy little Kent, CT. It is a little treasure with everything I have ordered having been excellent. It is owned and operated by a very nice Korean couple who pay attention to the details. They particularly pride themselves on the quality of their seafood and have told me that they get it fresh every day as they also own a fish market in the area. The quality certainly shows. Absolutely worth the visit. I know my dozen or so times have been!More

Love the friendly staff! The chef came to our table to ask how was his dishes. The kids gave enthusiastic 2 thumbs up. Family-kid friendly restaurant is always a bonus. Food was excellent. The tofu spicy stew was AMAZING. Seafood dishes was delicious as well....Also offered a variety of sushi. Eel and Soft shell crab was our go to along with the yakitori. Definitely will be back.More

Pretty good food in this Korean restaurant, with all the classic Korean specialities. Unfortunately the famous Korean BBQ cannot be barbecued at the table, but is done in the kitchen, which is a pity as it usually is a nice feature for this recipe. However...it still remains quite tasty and nice. Besides Korean food this place offers sushi and sashimis which are excellent and very affordable, for lunch for instance. Service is most efficient and very friendly. Overall this place is quite a nice alternative to some of the Main Street outlets often offering some pretty lousy junk food......More

We wanted to like this restaurant. We tried it three times, but it just didn’t get better. The food is mediocre, the layout is weird and the owner doesn’t understand English very well so it’s hard to get questions answered. We will not be back.

Highly recommend and love that there were so many vegetarian options. The bibimbap was incredible along with very friendly service and super clean restaurant. Cannot wait to return.

Great dumplings and pancake appetizers! Would go back just for that. Miso and entrees were good, but the egg was overcooked and spicy was not spicy at all. They may be catering toward average American tastes. Our waitress was very friendly but could have been...a little more attentive.More

Been here for three dinners with different experiences. Service friendly and fast on two occasions, unacceptably slow on the third, with no apology. No one to greet us and 10 minute wait for table even though many were available. Quality of food equally inconsistent: appetizers...good, bbq chicken tough bordering on inedible. Some of our entrees were better. An interesting and welcome change of pace; only wish it was more consistent.More

We went there for lunch & their prices were egregiously outrageous!! We would rather have the real Korean BBQ in NYC@Koreantown or Flushing for a better bargain. They served dirt cheap on BBQ short ribs when asked the waitress-if it comes with one or two...slab of ribs. Her respond was “2” as she pointed the photo display of this very same short ribs & that photo shown more generous than our actual serving plate! There weren’t much meats on the rib bones-just the pork fats. Who would eat & digest the fat slab? Waitress was attentive but she refused to compensate another better short ribs for us. We had to dispute with her & learned she was a daughter of the Namoo restaurant. How bizarre to see the way she professed in recommending us to order the BBQ short ribs@$18.00 for a few ribs with lots of fats! Very unhappy with her & she misled us by having a generous portion on this order. It only came with one small layer of short ribs as opposed to be TWO slabs! Guess what? She only offered us with 2 choices to compensate on either a miso soup or kimchi. Totally cheapie. Not pleased with her loyalty because she lied about everything she recommended@ high price, just for lunch! Never ever go there again! Highly not recommended!! Karma will get her & this place isn’t going to last!More
