We had two wonderful meals while staying at Winvian Farm. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating of requests. The food is superb and we especially loved the emphasis on fresh, locally grown ingredients.

My husband & I took another couple here for their birthday dinner. Everything lived up to the hype. We enjoyed drinks outside as we watched the sunset. Then moved inside for dinner. We had an entire room to ourselves. Since this was during the pandemic,...it was most appreciated. The upscale country atmosphere, the creative food choices, the cocktails, the wine selection...all superb. Servers & staff go above and beyond to satisfy the clientele. A few surprises are served in addition to what is ordered. A truly unique experience. Four-season destination. Reservations required. Valet parking (if desired).More

We stayed at Winvian and opted for dinner at the restaurant. Prix fixe menu with three selections per course and the standard amuse-bouches, etc. Everything was prepared very well and the breads were spectacular. My only complaint is that we ate outside (they were seating...most there because of COVID) and it was too cold - even with the heaters. It was about 55 degrees but with a steady breeze, which negated the heaters' effect. One of the servers mentioned the night before that it was so cold people "kept coming inside" to warm up. At breakfast the next morning we were given the option of sitting inside but sat outside and, without a breeze, it was very pleasant. It will be interesting to see how long eateries are able to take advantage of the great outdoors before it gets just wayyyy too cold... All in all, expensive, but worth it for a special treat.More

We came to Winvian to celebrate my birthday -- what a perfect time! The fireplace was lit, the room was QUIET (unlike most other local eateries), food was outstanding, service great. Thank you!

Always saw this place advertised and finally got around to trying it. It didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was not crowded so it was nice and quiet and we enjoyed our dinner in the fireplace room with background music. Service was excellent and attentive. The duck...pappardelle appetizer was delicious as well as the chocolate cake soufflé. The reason I gave it 4 stars is we had the beef for two. It was favorable but a little on the tough side. Also when you spend $300 for dinner I think it’s just a little tad tacky to charge $2 a person for still water.More

Fine dinning in the countryside. Stayed here for three days and every day turned into a "best meal ever" experience. Food served at our cottage was good and the dinners in the restaurant were just amazing. We stayed three days, two days is perhaps the...ideal amount of days since the meals were pretty much the same every day. A must stop place!!!!!More

I have stayed at the Winvian four times now and love this unique getaway spot. My dinner at the restaurant this last trip was exceptional, one of the best I've ever had. From the amuse bouche root soup to the most perfect greens salad, fresh...from the farm, to the most delicious sea bass, with a bouquet of tastes and colors on the plate. They gave us all 3 desserts for the two of us to eat after which was a delicious indulgence. Service was exceptional and the food was as well. It's not an inexpensive meal but well worth it!More

We wanted to try the only AAA 5-diamond restaurant in CT, and we were not disappointed. Great atmosphere, beautiful building and grounds. We were seated next to a warm fireplace, which we loved on a chilly night. Service and food was fantastic! Great for a...date night! They have a 3 or 4 course prix fixe menu, worth every penny!More

We ate in the restaurant for dinner both nights of our stay and the meal and service was absolutely off the hook! The wine list was very adequate and offered several price category’s to meet any wine palate. We also had the chefs tasting menus...that was filling and cooked perfectly. We can’t say enough ! Peace.More

We returned to Winvian for dinner for the first time in several years, and we were pleased to see that the quality of the meal and service remain as exceptional as we had remembered them. Our party of six were unanimous in our opinion that...nothing could be improved upon. Every dish on the menu was a finely executed and delicious treat, from amuse-bouche to petit-fours. Meat and fish courses were prepared perfectly. Service was professional, attentive, and accommodating. This is a destination venue perfect for special occasion meals, but it is not overly formal or stuffy. Litchfield County is extremely fortunate to have two truly world-class restaurants -- Winvian and Arethusa Al Tavolo.More
