Food was completely fine and cocktails were okay as well. The staff was friendly and service very good. If you are just looking to grab some food and aren't looking for a Michelin star experience, these guys fit the bill.
Dont waste the dollars to buy this "dinner". Go to stop n shop get a box of Pepperidge Farm Flaky pastry dough, a container of gravy, one handful of veggies and chopped turkey throw it into a bowl and microwave. Done. We've had several dinners...here and this was the second worse. The worse was the "owner" thinking he could replace a chef on Sundays. So dont go on a Sunday!!.... laughable but even the burger was poor. Otherwise Salmon was good, fish and chips drinks. This restaurant could be sooo much better.More
This restaurant is very unique due to the beautiful chainsaw carved eagles on a post outside, a lifelike statue of a cow peeking out from the outdoor seating area, and the overall design of the Barn Building itself. It invites you in. The rustic rough...wood inside completes the cozy appeal. And, the food was delicious.More
So first time here. Oh where to start.. Ordered a bees knees cocktail (first item on the top of the signature cocktail menu) said it was fresh lemon and local honey- watched the bar tender pour lemon concentrate from stop and shop and honey from...there also.... I expected this to be what it said on the menu LOCAL!! Apps were ok but nothing to comment on which is not a compliment- ordered a 7oz rib eye med rare - less than a half inch thick !? Bad - How in the hell can you cook that to perfection? Just don't offer that- seriously disappointing- I witnessed several patrons return salads that were not satisfactory- not sure why but can guess. Hope the place takes what I have to say and makes some changes- really want to have a reason to go back- love that it is local- just not there yet -More
We had been by The Barn a few times and decided that today was the day to give it a shot. The Inside is decorated extremely nice, a very country feel with some beautiful fresh flowers on the tables. The place was empty but we...were in between Lunch and dinner so not a big concern, the waitress was over quickly and very sweet. We had a bottle of cold water on the table before we even sat down. The Guinness Chili was very good, the only complaint would be to much cheese and not enough chili, and maybe add some tortilla chips. We had the Shaved Brussels sprout salad with steak and a Cobb Salad, both were very tasty and priced about right. We skipped dessert but will be back to try some other menu items.More
I just had dinner at The Barn in Morris and it was all around excellent. I had the pan seared scallop special with vegetable parmesan risotto and it was outstanding!! It was a large portion cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. The wait staff was...very personable and efficient!More
A home style menu with big flavors. Fresh lobster roll, smoked pasta with basil and mozzarella and more creative choices. Beer taps, good wine choices. Friendly service. 10 tables To sit at and a small bar, in a rustic decor. Bar stools are very uncomfortable.
The Barn has something for everyone; we went as our family of four and my husband ordered the burger which was one of the best burgers he has had in a long time! I had the grain bowl which was fulfilling and delicious. The kiddos...ordered chicken and a small burger which they loved. The ambiance was great, the staff was kind and attentive. Definitely a must - wish we lived closer so we could visit during happy hour and live music - the drinks looked really good! A must visit in Morris, CT!More
