I kept hearing good reviews about this restaurant and am a fan of French/French-inspired food, so we decided to try. First off, this place was so dark my husband and I couldn't see our food well at all. We were in the bottom level of the restaurant. It honestly felt like I was eating in a cave w. a candle... More

This place is a gem. It was a cozy fit in the bar for lunch. But the day was blustery and cold, so my daughter and I were happy to blow in for a bite. We started with some local dried meats and pate with a variety of breads. Then we moved on to almost everyone's favorite dish: mac and... More

My favorite restaurant in New Haven. Should be in the top 5 if you ask me. Have been here twice. Excellent pairings. Sometimes it is hard to get a table though

After hearing so much about Caseus, I was really excited when my boyfriend treated me to dinner there...I was looking forward to loving it--which unfortunately did not and never will happen, unless the owners take drastic measures. The bill for two amounted to 110 dollars, not including taxes and tips. For this sum, we only got a cheeseboard (the cheese... More

Love love this place! Always has interesting specials but keeps the menu "go tos" as well. Shop next door has the best cheese around and features lots of other charcuterie products. Make a reservation or forget it

My sisters & I were so excited to try Caseus after seeing the menu online!! However once we saw that they cook with peanut oil we left immediately. I am able to eat nuts & most peanut butters but am deathly allergic to peanut oil! Luckily most restaurants do not use it (actually only 1 fast food chain) so I'm... More

I have had the pleasure of dining at Caseus a few times and each time was wonderful. The food ranges from burgers and fries to much more refined offerings. Do not let the thought of burgers and fries deceive you though, there is nothing mundane about the food here. The fries (frites) are divine and the burger I had was... More

Great menu, specializing in cheese. I love the grilled cheese, its so crispy and ooey gooey on the inside. The Onion Soup is A+. Check out the cheese shop too, they really know their stuff.

Is there anything here that is not delicious? No. And those behind the counter know their products and give great advice. Samples available!
