A great independent bookstore with an excellent cafe. Seriously, the food is terrific. Stop in after visiting the Yale Art Gallery across the street

Small restaurant and book store with very good food and very good books. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table but the time was well consumed by browsing the store looking for books. We ended up spending more on books than we did for lunch. The food for lunch was all very good, especially the hummus appetizer.... More

For breakfast, We had the blueberry brioche, the salmon wasabe, and Monte Cristo: all were delightful. The scone was fine. We found this on trip advisor while travelling on I-95. A real bonus:. Just across from the Yale Fine Arts Gallery. Check it out.

We dropped in for lunch and sat at the counter. Our server couldn't be more gracious. Loved the selections of salads, sandwiches and soups. I picked a cup of sweet potato soup and a half a Cuban sandwich. It hit the spot! The books provided a cozy back drop to a wonderful lunch. Would definitely go back.

The black bean soup is wonderful, the salads are great, service is brisk and helpful, and the bread, made by affiliated Chabaso bakery, is top notch. Go when you're touring Yale's art museum across the street

Books! I had to buy one. The service is good. There were people wandering around asking if you needed help. You can sign in at the front counter and they go shopping. They will come find you. Then I had great coffee and yummy pancakes. The lunch at the table next to me looked great. We had about a 10... More

Love that you can buy the baked goods and breads as carryout. Great bread--we love the cranberry pecan! While the atmosphere in the cafe is lovely--filled with great books and conversations, when there is a long wait we just take the baked goods home and try to replicate the experience. Wish they were more "laptop user friendly". They tend to... More

Stopped in for lunch with some local friends. We all ordered a variety of things to share. We sat at the counter. Our server was very nice. I quickly lost my appetite when I saw the person preparing our food washing dishes without washing his hands. I witnessed the servers washing dishes then delivering food with out washing hands. I... I've been here a few times before, mainly to browse the books. The staff picks section always pulls me in because it has a good variety curated from around the shop. On my last trip, I stopped in on a cold Saturday night with a few friends from out of town. We ordered warm drinks. I personally recommend the mocha... More

Good for sandwich, drinks, and light food. Good service, what we had was satisfactory. The picture of the sandwich says it all.
