One of the most excellent meals I've had in a long time. The tapas are fabulous. There were four of us so we had 8 tapas - two salads and 6 mixture of veggie and seafood. The mushrooms were the best...seriously, the best. Salads (we had bibb and mixed) were generous for 4. The bread...such a nice chew. I only... More

I have eaten at Barcelona 4 times, twice in New Haven, once in Fairfield, once in Stamford. Had great experiences at Fairfield and Stamford - excellent food and service. Not so in New Haven. The restaurant is a complete zoo. For one thing, the noise level is fierce - not just the amount of noise that makes a restaurant seem... More

Place was packed. Hard to get around with the crowd. Service was ok. The DJ Mike had the place rocking.

Been here a few times for tapas. Great atmosphere & food always hits the spot. Fig & chorizo, truffle hangar steak, brussels, beets, too many to list, but you can't go wrong.

Some friends brought me here as an introduction to New Haven. Great tapas menu and the sangria we ordered rivaled some of my favorites in Spain. I'd definitely bring visitors here and look forward to going back soon

Went for brunch on a Sunday and enjoyed a mix of regular and brunch tapas. Each round was delicious and well prepared. I particularly enjoyed the drunken goat cheese and the prawn Benedict. Good service from a friendly wait staff.

We stayed at the Omni and this restuarant was right next door. It is tricky to find becase there is no sign so we had to call and ask for their location. Very cool front door made of horizontal wood slats that blend into the surrounding wood. When you enter it is loud and crowded but in an inviting way.... More

Having traveled to Spain several times recently, we are quite familiar with Spanish food, particularly tapas. First of all, service is warm and gracious. The restaurant is large with a sense of warmth and the decor is understated. Good selection of both wines by the glass and bottles. We shared jamon, cheese, croquettes, hamachi, potatas bravas and a few other... More

Each tapa is creatively more delicious than the last (or the next one!) The location is excellent, and the ambiance is superb. You can feel the exuberance in the atmosphere as soon as you enter Barcelona. The country bread made and baked on premises, and is served with the best-tasting olive oil ever! Our teenage guests were absolutely delighted to... More

Barcelona New Haven opened in 2006 and is our largest restaurant in CT. Winner of the New Haven Advocate's "Best New Restaurant" and "Best Wine List," Barcelona is located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven just steps from Yale University. Here we have combined some of our favorite elements in a single location. A street level lounge overlooks a dining bar area with a stone fireplace. The sophisticated glass-and-steel dining room is framed by a 2000-bottle refrigerated wine cellar. The dramatic 80-seat private room is dominated by a larger than life, wall to wall, 30-foot mural of a Spanish bullfighter, and a 20-person chef's table, fashioned from a single walnut tree, borders the busy open kitchen.
