OK, so New Haven is known worldwide mostly for one pizza place. However, the Bru Rm at Bar is a much less known, but in my humble opinion, superior joint. The selection of pies is very broad and contains some eclectic choices (the mashed potato pie is divine!) and the service is wonderful. While you may not have to wait... More

Salad was amazing! Got the big salad to share with 4! What a great salad. Pizza was excellent too. It was very busy but service was good also.

...it's still pretty good. Sometimes you just have to scratch that pizza itch. You swing by Pepe's and there's a two hour line. The Spot, right next door, same thing. What are you to do? BAR can do in a pinch. First off, give due where due, their salad is infinitely better (and way pricier) than Pepe's. In fact, Pepe's... More

This was our second stop on a self-imposed pizza tour of New Haven. My son wanted the mashed potatoes and bacon pizza, while we ordered a white pie with mozzarella and spinach. I do not like mashed potatoes but my son thought it was delicious. The spinach and mozzarella pie was not good at all.

BAR pizza is my favorite New Haven pizza (Modern is a close second). When you combine great pizza with fresh salads and tasty beer in a warehouse chic setting, you have a winning combination. The service is way friendlier than Wooster Square places, but you still may find yourself waiting for a long time (no reservations unless you have a... More

Not big on the atmosphere, but the pies are good. Still not a fan of the mashed potato variations, but like mushroom pies quite a bit.

We loved the mashed potato pizza, it was so unique and delicious! We also had the hot cherry pepper and meatball pizza which was very tasty as well! Good beer and wine, service was good, pizza was delicious. Will definitely eat here again!

I have been told for years by my brother that New Haven style pizza is to die for. Lucky for me I was driving home from Boston to DC when I pursuaded my boyfriend to go a little out of the way so we could see what all the fuss is about. My brother recommended BAR so we stopped here.... More
