The cleanest cutlery I have seen in any pub! An excellent ploughmans with a qwerky onion as a pickle pot. Recommend a visit.

we went to this pub a few times as my elderly relative lives near and it is convenient to walk there. The pub is ok. Service normally quite slow, both for drinks and food. The food is nice but not every time. A bit of a hit and miss. You have to queue at the bar for drinks even if... More

Have been going to this local for many years....watching its slow decline. Sadly if you want a pint and a sandwich go elsewhere. Even the regulat lunchtime diners have deserted it. £5.95 for two slices of cut loaf plus half a sasuage and some cold greasy onions...and a token salad with half a small tomato. A rip off ... And... A very charming pub, many people were drinking at the bar and my husband and I were the only couple sitting down to dinner. The service was good, and Isabel was very sweet, charming and attentive. We ordered the melted Camembert platter to share as a starter which was delicious! Then our main meals arrived a spaghetti bolognese and a... More

Great pub, great food and very welcoming staff. Superb roast, all trimmings were delicious. Great value for money. They had a deal for 2 roasts for £20 with the chicken and gammon, they were out of gammon but offered to change the deal to include lamb.

We visited the Griffin on a Saturday evening for a meal and were surprised to find we were the only customers in the saloon bar. This is an old fashioned pub and during our stay the public bar was very busy with drinkers. The old fashioned theme continued throughout with decorations, fixtures and fittings that are old and tired. However... More

Friends found this pub when searching for available places for Easter Sunday lunch. Had never been to Esher before and when trying to locate the pub thought we were going to someone's house as tucked away on a residential street. The dining area on the left is compact but didn't feel claustrophobic at all. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We... More

Sunny afternoon in pub. Great beer and good food - simple but very good. Ideal pub food. Pub is pleasantly decorated - above standard. Nice area
