The food here is far from authentic Mexican, unless you consider that it might have been cooked by a 12 yr old Mexican kid. Our first hint to a bad experience was the salsa, which was clearly massacred through a blender at least a dozen times before it reached our table. I am very surprised that this place could survive... More

This food is excellent. This is truly home cooking mexican food. The family has owned this restaurant for over 20 years and my family and I have never had a bad meal. Don't expect fancy, but expect delicious authentic food. This is a food that you will crave.

I went there a couple of years ago with my husband, and we walked out of the place because I was totally gross out by the food. I am Mexican and like a good fresh food, I know is hard to find good Mexican in the area, so I decided to give it a second chance with a group of... More

This is a no frills, quiet, and spacious restaurant, in the heart of SoNo, serving standard Mexican fare, that is consistently excellent and delicious. Nothing gourmet here, but it is high quality, very tasty Mexican food that will not disappoint anyone in your group. The restaurant appears to be run by a family, and has been there for more than... The plates are hot. The enchiladas are delicious. The rice and beans are also good and so are the non alcoholic beverages. X rating 4.5

It's a family owned restaurant in the heart of Sono. Great service, great food and drinks. Definitely would recommend :)

If you like Mexican dishes, then this is a great place to get authentic regional Mexican food that miles beyond many "Americanized" Mexican dishes that we all-to-easily settle for. I get the three cheese enchilada special with rice and beans, along with black bean soup and a side dish of pico de gallo. There is rice and beans and then... More

My family has been going to the Alcupulco for probably 30 years and its the first stop I have to make when I get back in town. Nothing fancy, just good Mexican food. The best part is the 50 or so combinations to choose from for entrees, although I always seem to order the same thing and a pitcher of... More

Been coming here for years. They have the best enchiladas you will get anywhere. Delicious taste, whether you get the beef, chicken or cheese served bubbling hot. I have yet to find a good, decent enchilada anywhere. Prices are very reasonable. Family owned and always very nice. Lets keep them in business for years to come:)

Good fare, but no surprises. Same old day in and day out. I do like it, but it's nothing extremely special. The only special about the place is that it has been there since the 70's. In the 70's when Mama Vicky ran it, I hear it was phenomenal, but when the family took over after she died, it was... More
