I really wanted to like this place since they had gluten free choices. I went twice and did not enjoy either visit. The gluten free bread was awful. I expected a bun for my grilled chicken sandwich since the sign said gluten free buns. I got two very dry slices of cold bread. Yuk!! The chicken vegetable soup had very... More

Good choice if looking for a good spot for lunch in this college town. Everything is in the $9-$12 range. Black bean burrito was very good. Chili was great. Sweet chili shrimp wrap special was great. Only food complaint was that I found the clam chowder a little thin. Better choices on the menu. Order your food at the counter,... More

The food here is excellent. Everything is made fresh and soups are homemade. After placing your order at the counter the food is brought out to you. Coffee, tea etc is self service. Comfortable atmosphere. Desserts are excellent.

As a UConn grad, the shimmer of yesteryear makes it hard to be open to new faces when now defunct favorites have moved on. After learning that Sara's Pockets and Altnaveigh Inn were recently closed, my wife and I "settled" on Dog Lane Cafe for an early lunch before a noon basketball game at Gampel. I was pleasantly surprised. Located... More

I was at this establishment one year ago. So when I was looking for a place for lunch today after a UConn WBB game, this was the place to return. We were not disappointed. The quality of food is great, service is excellent and cost is very reasonable. They have an extensive menu for all eating styles. For example, I... More

Food here is overpriced, but for a college town, not too bad. The burgers and breakfast sandwiches are good, but the real reason to visit is the bands they have on occasion! Great atmosphere, fun crowd, good wait staff and good selection of beer. Coffee is always hot and delicious, worth the wait if you have the time!

I've been here probably 15 times whether it be for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee. Service is OK and the food is all right. I did get a chicken bone in a sandwich once and choked, I didn't even get a dollar off the sandwich or a free dessert (which are way overpriced).

I love Dog Lane cafe. I went to UConn and the addition of this café was a great call. It's fast but great food in a nice location of the campus. The staff is friendly and keep the tables clean. The place can get busy however, so prepare to wait on a weekend during breakfast time!
