We found that the food was of good quality, our hostess was very upbeat and was always checking to make sure everything we needed was there.

A friend suggested we meet here because it was a central place for the three of us to meet. Very little parking in the back, so you need to park on the street. This is an old building in an old factory town, so the outside doesn't look like much. But when I walked inside, I was surprised how nice... More

Disappointing for a $28.00 special. Pan seared scallops tasted like the cast iron pan that I pictured them lightly seared in..A little too uncooked inside for me and very little seasoning or taste. Creamy Risotto has great ingredients like sun dried tomatoes and pearl onions and parmesan but overall lacked any real flavor..just blah. Dish needs something..Take a taste, Chef.

I have been here on three different occasions and find the food quality is not consistent and the service is slow if you have a table of more than 2 people. I would go back to eat in the bar area as that was not bad but would not recommend the restaurant section.

Very good food and atmosphere. Right in the center of Thomaston. Also, Rotary meetings are held there at noon on Tuesdays.

It's a great place in Thomaston ct. I went there last night with my wife. We had dinner and drinks. I had there sirloin steak and my wife ordered lemon chicken. It was prepared perfect. The drinks are good as well. Not watered down like all the chain restaurants.

Today we visited the Tavern with a group of eight after taking the morning excursion on the Naugatuck Railroad. We found the menu very complete and all selections by our group were fully enjoyed. Choices included about six varieties of very nice soups. A great appetizer selection and many entree choices including daily specials. It certainly would be called comfort... More

Our Funseekers social group from Oronoque Village had a bus trip arranged through Friendship Tours to see the production of Billy Elliot at the Thomaston Opera House (see my review on that venue). Luncheon was to be at the Black Rock Tavern. The menu choices for our 47 Funseekers who took the excursion was a Chicken Francaise or Baked Scrod.... More

Not a very warm and inviting atmosphere but the food is good. Steak on a very hot rock where you cook it at your table is great. General menu is good as well. Great service people and a good place to eat before a show at the Opera House.

AMAZING. I had Stuffed Sole and my boyfriend had Prime Rib. Presentations on both were great. From the first bite of the Stuffed Sole to the last (they're lucky I wasn't at home - would've licked the plate) is was perfection. I'm not a big Prime Ribb'er, but, tasted his and may just start to order Prime Rib again. Mouth... More
