The Curtis House Inn is the oldest in Connecticut that is still in existence. We have had lunch there twice in the last month and have been very pleased both times. I have had the stuffed sole and the wife had the salmon on our first visit. We were both well pleased with the portions and they were delicious. We... More

We enjoyed our dinner at Curtis House Inn. The menu is mostly old-fashioned comfort foods, meatloaf, pork chops, pot roast, etc. The portions are sizable, a "personal" pizza could easily be split by two, one pork chop is plenty, etc. Our server was rather loud and intrusive, but very friendly. Food came out quickly and hot, although it was served... More

Some service issues but you don't have to fight the crowds. Home style dishes are the best - shepherds pie, pot roast, turkey dinner. Try the lobster bisque. Parfaits are a good end to dinner.

In over 60 years of dining out, the French Onion Soup here was the best ever! My sauteed calves liver & onions was the most tender ever, and tasteful. Lauretta had tenderloin tips, and we shared Sauteed Escargot. All of our food, including the salads, were presented beautifully and had great taste. We completed this great meal with delicious Creme... More

So reasonably priced with food so fresh, service so friendly! I plan to stop at this restaurant every time I'm in the area.

I have been to this restaurant several times now since I discovered it last year. I have never had a dissapointing meal and the historic atmosphere is always worth the drive. Service is amazing

We stayed at the Inn for two days and took all of our meals here as did most of the guests. A Continental breakfast was offered for free.

Last visit finally put me over the edge. I will never go back. I have walked out in the past because you can't get a waiter/waitress to take your order. But, I come back thinking it might get better. My wife ordered the lazy man's lobster. She wasn't feeling well to start, but thought she would take it home with... More

Well, Gordon didn't kill this place... and we're so grateful. But we recently arranged our highway travels to swing through Connecticut and into the Curtis House for dinner between states. The wait nearly killed our schedule. We arrived at the inn about 5:45pm. The meal was only 'good' --when it finally arrived. (After our disappointing wait, food was salty and... More

Today my friend and I had the pleasure of dining at the Curtis House Inn. What a treat! The decor was beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was terrific. Our waiter, Trevor, could not have been nicer. We were able to enjoy a glass of wine without feeling rushed. He even gave us some ice for our leftovers... More
