A "go to" breakfast location for an impressive breakfast menu. A wide variety of Eggs Benedict to choose from. Every day has a menu special. Dinners are wonderful! Great food, consistently excellent quality. Friendly and helpful staff. New owners to this location. Very friendly people....Good to support them.More
Beer lines were dirty offered second glass still nasty floatys. Finally offered a can. Didn't offer to take money off the bil in any way. Had to ask for the bill 3 times Just skip this not worth you time or money!
Second trip to Symposium in the past 1.5 weeks. Tonight three of us ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner. The joint consensus on this dish was it was not good value at all for our money ($23.95 plus tax/tip). The three chicken skewers were very tasty...and delicious however the chicken was accompanied by a small portion of plain white Jasmine type rice and a small greek salad that had little taste/flavour of dressing. Fourth guest enjoyed his burger; fries were stone cold and had to be exchanged. The restaurant would benefit but changing up this dish - add some lemon greek potatoes or increase the rice portion substantially and dress up the rice with flavour etc.More
A friend and I went to have a couple drinks around 8:30, we were very excited as things have been closed around us for quite some time. This being said, we were rudely awoken almost the second we walked in. My friend is training a...service animal and was questioned about it as soon as we walked in (not a huge problem, of course!) and from there after the greeter/waitress was not warm or welcoming. We sat down to order drinks and the waitress made ZERO conversation and simply took our order, which would be totally fine and understandable had they been busy. After finishing our drinks, no one came to offer another nor came to see how they were/if we were doing okay. My friend went to the bar to let her know she wanted another and the waitress took her time to bring that over. After finishing my own drink, we AGAIN walked to the bar to ask for another and we were told that last call was at 9pm ... which was not told to us at any point in the night. Last call is understandable and not arguable, however, the waitress did not let us know about it nor did she come to offer a last drink as last call was soon approaching. Horrible service... but of course when the time to pay came around she was so quick to ask about the dog and make conversation... I used to love this place, but after this experience I will not be back!!More
We come here regularly, and it’s become our “go to” spot when we need a nice meal while in Hamilton. They’ve done very well making you feel comfortable with Covid, with social distancing, proper cleaning, and masks in place. The menu has lots of variety,...and I haven’t had a bad meal yet. We HIGHLY recommend their chicken parm. I’ve only done the breakfast once, but it’s very good as well. Highly recommend this place.More
We were greeted at the entrance by a well dressed young gentleman who explained the mandatory covid preventative measures. We chose to be seated inside, although the patio was available. The waitress, wearing a mask of course, welcomed us and provided us with menus. We...enjoyed a cool draft beer and a glass of red wine as we both chose the chicken parmesan. It was the best we've ever had and a generous portion as well. This restaurant is always so impeccable and well staged as a fine Greek eating establishment. There is ample parking in front of the restaurant. We were extremely pleased with our visit and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful dinner out. We will certainly return.More
My wife and I visited the Symposium Cafe on Rymal Road,Stoney Creek for a late lunch. We were very impressed with the excellent service (Rebecca) and the really good food.We are going to be going back again as their menu was extensive, including breakfast, dinner and desserts.
We each ordered Eggs Benny. Every time delicious! The service is great too! Enjoyed our breakfast outside in their patio. A great way enjoy the summer mornings. We go every other week and I order mine with the turkey bacon yummy! Great food every time!
This establishment is clean, spotless and the decor is Medterranean .. very nice. We arrived right at 5:00 pm on a Sunday evening. It was not too crowded at that time .. nice and quiet, although the clientele picked up quite a bit an hour...later. We were welcomed nicely and directed to a booth. The waiter, a young student, was very friendly and menu knowledgeable. My wife and I ordered the Greek chicken shawarma and it was fabulous. The chicken was tender, tasty and prepared perfectly. The accompanying Greek salad was fresh, and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service as well.More
I order online from Uber eats. Sometimes the food is OUTSTANDING, sometimes it is inedible. It is to expensive to take a chance.
I met a friend here for lunch. I had been here before but always for breakfast. I like this place as it is spacious and you can sit and chat without the next table being right on top of you. I started with the Broccoli...and Cheddar Soup ($6.95) which I thought was excellent. I then chose to do the breakfast for lunch thing and ordered the Eggs Benedict ($12.95) which was excellent. I find the Symposium to be a solid performer that doesn't disappoint.More
Service was incredibly slow. Our server was lovely; obviously they were understaffed. My Mediterranean salad with salmon was served with rainbow trout....did they think I would not notice? Salad consisted of large chunks of pepper and cucumber...minute pieces of feta; underdressed. Average at best!
A Large partymixed drinks watered down to point think no alcohol was in them.cold food.Waiter more intersted in chatting at bar than serving.management rude.argued about any complaints.Best thing I can say is I did not throw up after meal. But only because I barely ate.
My family and I have gone here on several occasions for breakfast because it is close to us. Well, I would never go there again! Bad service and bad management. They are not organized at all we had to wait 90 minutes to get our...breakfast!! When we spoke to the manager, he offered us a piece of cake!!?? No compensation at all, he just shrugged it off. I would rather drive a longer distance and spend my money elsewhere.More
