We popped in late one afternoon after a long walk just for drinks and to plan our next day. The choice of beer and wine was good, the service very friendly with the chef (who was sat reading in the bar) quite chatty as well....More

We wanted a local pub for 6 of us & 2 dogs. We discovered an unpretentious pub with a sincere & warm welcome. Lovely beer & great food, much better than we thought it might be. Our dogs were warmly welcomed too, which makes such...More

I reviewed The Hare & Hounds last April and was greatly saddened by the drop in standards in what had, till then, been one of our favourite places to eat in that locality. I was pleased that the lady owner/manager had done such a brilliant...More

I hadn't been in this pub for 30 or more years and I'll leave it another 30 before visiting again. The service was slow, the staff bordering on scruffy. When looking about whilst waiting between courses it became apparent that the place was rather tired...More

The menu is very good and varied and there are also daily specials. Quality and presentation is very much above pub food, easily equal to a good restaurant. Breakfast was also excellent, again much better than expected.

Visited as a group of 10 for Sunday lunch. Limited choice for vegetarians, with only 1 thing on the mains menu. One of our party was unable to eat their roast beef as it was to pink. Limited puddings for the kids so we requested...More

We had a really lovely dinner here. Although the menu is fairly limited, the food was well presented and cooked perfectly. Service was efficient and friendly. This is good pub food rather than fine dining but none the worse for that! Highly recommended!

Just spent the one night at the Hare and Hounds. We had rooms 1&2 - I think they are the deluxe rooms. Both lovely rooms. Comfy beds, good selection of drinks to make in the room and stunning bathrooms with excellent showers and beautiful free...More

Very friendly pub. Stayed 2 nights with husband. Deluxe room was very nice, however, in my opinion too expensive. Breakfast was huge, very good. Evening meal nice but nothing special. I had fish pie and my husband lamb. I did feel the pub was lacking...More
