Many good combos with sides available. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, etc. Family style wooden picnic benches. You have to try the fried green tomatoes.

Headed to Brooksville to take guests to another great Brooksville restaurant, then remembered that they close at 2:30, so we stopped at the Deep South Family. Driven by many times and thought about stopping to try it out, and now glad we finally did. Excellent BBQ and delicious sides. Nothing fancy, inside and out side picnic tables, but good food... Oh my gosh, a real Florida cracker bbq joint! Out towards I-75, but worth the drive. I had the ribs, fried green maters (minus a few by the time I got to the camera) with a tangy horseradish sauce, fried corn bread, ham & collards and a cold beer. Not pictured is the deep fried peach pie for dessert. Needed... More

Don't let the size of this place fool you. It's a small, shack-like building with only a few tables. But the food is great. Their baked beans are tasty but not exactly traditional baked beans. The beef brisket is really good. The only dish we got that we weren't crazy about was the sweet potato casserole - it had a... More

Very good service, good fried green tomatoes and fair to good food. Atmosphere is limited. Screened in porch with attendant highway noises and very breezy. Not great.

We had a late lunch there and got filled up on pulled bbq, okra, fried apples, a drink and fried pie. Excellent bbq sandwich ! We loved the unique, rustic setting as well. The chef was very hospitable and friendly! We will return

Stopped here on a whim with my son as we were heading home to Illinois. Did not read any of the excellent reviews until after we ate. Atmosphere was perfect, the food was excellent, and the staff typical southern hospitality. Highly recommended!

We have eaten at most all of the BBQ restaurants in the area, and this was the least appetizing. We have spoken to others about it, thinking it was just us, but they agreed with us. Each time we have passed by there, rarely are there more than one or two cars in the small parking lot. The old saying... More

the food is good and no frills. If you want lemon for your iced tea, bring your own or it will be a liquid type. The BBQ is some of the best I've ever had!!!

Their baked beans are made with 7 different beans and i would be happy to just have that. We had the rib special with beans potato salad cole slaw and fried green... More
