Based on reviews we decided to try Kona Joe's Island Cafe. We now know why it is rated number one! The shrimp-n-grits and the blue crab quiche are an excellent must have.....be sure to leave room for their homemade key lime pie for dessert!! We stopped in for coffee and ended up with some of best grits I've ever had! Stay a little while and enjoy the view out back of the water and marsh area. Dog friendly also!

Myra cooked me the BEST bacon cheese burger AND was kind enough to give me directions to some local beaches. Catlin provided excellent service! I will definitely stop back here the next time I'm in Cedar Key! You should eat here! The view in back is fantastic!

Capped it all off with homemade key lime pie and coconut custard pie...delicious! Great folks, very friendly, and a great view of the water. The proud new owners have obviously not missed a beat because everything was great!

Kona Joe is a really nice man with great food. I wish there were more items on the menu, but this is a small 'mom and pop' establishment, thank goodness, and you can't have big chain restaurant expectations. I was not impressed with Cedar Key - there was no real beach and nothing to do there - but I did... More

Love love loved Kona Joes. Relaxing place to enjoy a morning coffee or homemade quiche. The owners were so friendly and fun to be around. I spent all my mornings of my vacation here at Kona Joes, and I can't wait to go back!
