We wanted to check this place out so we set out to test out HH and dinner. $5 apps were good but beware the cracker shrimp and cracker chicken are a bit hot with buffalo sauce. For dinner the four of us had the grouper, boulibaise, the pawnbroker salad and the crab cakes . All four of us were very... More

The place reminded us of an old fashioned supper club but the food was certainly of this era. While a bit pricy, food quality was good. The stone crab claws were very good, the seafood platter had so much tasty scallops, shrimp and grouper that I couldn't eat it all (darn), the coconut shrimp was delectable with the perfectly paired... We have eaten at The Prawnbroker several times when we visit Fort Myers Beach, but it has been several years since last visit. We arrived at 5pm, but we did not have reservations, so we had to wait 35 minutes for a table. There were numerous empty tables visible from the lobby, so I don't understand that. The young hostess... More

The Prawnbroker Restaurant has excellent fresh seafood! I love the sesame tuna special. We have a group of 28 people that go annually on New Year's Day. The service has always been excellent and our group has a great time. With such a large group there were a variety of menu items ordered. Some ordered from the early bird menu... More

The Prawnbroker has early dining which ends at 5:30, with a variety of entree selections. We both enjoyed the Haddock, and I also had crab cakes, also good as was the New England chowder. Happy hour. Call ahead for reservations; parking is limited; McGregor Rd can be busy at 5 pm.

We went for the Early Birds. Luckily they take reservations As long as you have a confirmed reservation for before 5:15 and arrive at that time, you will get the Early Bird price even thou you may be seated 1/2 hour later. The choices were excellent as were the prices Most were less $16 including salad or NE Clam Chowder,... More

This restaurant is top quality, my favorite place to go for classy old Fort Myers. The wait staff work as a well oiled machine, they are just top notch! The food is the highest quality, it doesn't matter matter if you order off the main menu or the fresh catch of the day. Just visit and enjoy!

Enjoyed our first visit and it won't be our last! Everyone in our party of 4 loved the food. One is not a seafood person and there were ample choices available for her. Sarah, our friendly waitress, was attentive without being intrusive. Menu offers a smaller portion option before 5:30. We arrived early without a reservation and were glad we... More

Description
Walking through the front doors, guests are greeted by the in-house seafood market, where the Prawnbroker showcases their specially chosen fresh fillets of fish and beef, hand-cut on premise, that are sure to tempt the palates of all. To emphasize their commitment to buying local and bringing you the freshest seafood Ft. Myers has to offer, you'll find our hand picked selection straight from the local waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Here you'll get a peek at the sumptuous fare that you'll soon be enjoying from their comfortable yet elegant dining room. Feast your eyes on mouth-watering Snapper, Gulf Shrimp, Softshell Crabs, Mahi Mahi, and the best Grouper Florida has to offer. Small tubs of pale pink creamy shrimp bisque stand in line next to bases for both kinds of chowder - New England style being what the restaurant is most famous for, a nod to the original owners' home region. Diners consistently return to enjoy these favorites plus the greatest Florida Stone crabs (in season) and Maine Lobsters.
