Our visit to Cap's Place got off to a decent start. We had a bit of a wait for the boat to take us from the parking lot to the restaurant. We had a seat at the cozy bar and ordered drinks. So far so good. We were seated in the restaurant ten minutes later. Even though there were many... More

A taxi driver in Fort Lauderdale recommended Caps Place to us. It's a cosy, casual dinner spot with a lot of history that serves up great seafood! I read all the reviews here about the crab cakes and they lived up to them (seriously, order them). The boat ride to and from the restaurant is a nice touch, too.

Lived in the area for 15+ years and never went here. Went 2 weeks ago and everything was OK (5 out of ten). Decided to take out of town guests. Horrible. Same food tasted b.a.d. Service terrible....terrible and food not good. NOT recommended...even for the "experience". Too bad.

Friend told us about Caps, its accessed by a quick flat boat ride from land based parking. When you get to the dock area of restaurant walk up pathway, the history of the Place is that it was a speakeasy and casino in the 20's and has been the host to many political and business leaders throughout the years. While... More

Cap's place is a fun experience. You are taken there by boat to this unique restaurant on the inter-coastal.. Food is wonderful. Atmosphere makes you think Ernest Hemingway will come to join you. Don't miss it if in the area..

Went 2x in the past 3 months. The first time, it was the day of the storm and the place was empty. Just one other table had patrons. Our waitress, Melissa, was "crazy good"! Had time to stay and chat with us and gave us many insights about Cap's Place. We ordered a myriad of dishes - the crab cakes... More

Great evening in a perfect setting. Sure the food was outstanding as well. We started with the shuttle boat from the marina to the island. How great with the bay and the intercostal surrounding you at dinner. The captain of the shuttle gives an energetic historical account of the area and restaurant which is the oldest surviving restaurant in Broward... More

Four of us had dinner here last Thursday night and it was absolutely spot on. From the welcoming bartender to our server Melissa, we could not ask for better. We highly recommend the crab cakes and yellow tail snapper. If you're in this area, do not miss Cap's Place.

Great place for history of the area. Food is usually good but not always consistent. It is mostly a fish place. You can go casual or nice.
