Stumbled onto this gem of a restaurant and you should as well. First of all, look past the outside which is not very attractive. Go in, order and you will be very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant offers a mix of Mexican, Salvadoran, "Spanish" cuisine and it does it all very well. The downside first: The place is not very large... More

This place did NOT disappoint! The food was delicious (flavorful and authentic). Very reasonably priced, too. Friendly and professional staff. I can see why they are rated #1!!!!

This family run restaurant makes food like no other. Absolutely fantastic. Their Fajitas are to die for. Hot sizzling, delicious and lots of it. Good friendly service, but best book a table as the restaurant is small.

I have bee to this place a few times. It is not Mexican. The menu is more of a fusion Mexican with Salvadorean food Pupusas - to Tacos & Enchiladas. While the food is served at the correct temperature the entire place locks ventilation and consequently you garments will have to get wash asap. Not a good place to take... More

My husband really enjoyed his breakfast but mine didn't seem to do much for me. I ordered the breakfast tacos and they really didn't have much flavor to them. I would definitely go back and try something different as the place was clean, well run, and friendly.

My wife and I found this place on TripAdvisor, and decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated, by a friendly Carmen, who was also our server. Although she was the only server working, she managed to provide good service with a smile to all of her guests. I ordered the Salvadoran breakfast, and finished every last... More

A very cute, relaxing, basic, but elegant restaurant that serves a very extensive variety of Mexican and Central American specialties. They use high quality, fresh ingredients which shows in the flavors. The kitchen is out in the open and is fun to watch the prepping and cooking. The staff and management are very friendly, attentive and courteous. Prices are adequate... More

After seeing all of the reviews, finally came in to see what the fuss was all about. Parking was challenging, but we waited it out. Carmen greeted us like we were regulars. The papusa were great...also steak fajitas. The Margarita was strong...it was a great lunch!

Had the chorizo and steak tacos. Perfect size comes with three. Not too much food so we didn't leave feeling stuffed, but quite satisfied. Loved the rice and beans: white rice with corn, green peas and carrots on it. Food came quick and service was friendly. Would highly recommend.

We chose El Guanaco for its proximity to our hotel and excellent reviews. It is a very unassuming exterior and the inside is tight but elegant. Friendly service and our waitress answered all of our questions. The El Salvadorian influence intrigued us as the menu had a few extras. I convinced my wife to ditch her go to chimichangas and...
