Very nice eclectic atmosphere and awesome food! Everything tasted so wonderful and “homemade” not what you would expect— much better! Looking forward to going back again!

We stopped here randomly while driving across Florida and were glad we did. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food when it was ready, They had a great variety on the menu, All of the ingredients are fresh and the...food is excellent. The only negative thing I can say is that the employees were not wearing masks and the tables could have been a bit further apart.More

We weren’t sure what to expect at Nutmeg’s and it was such a great discovery! Located in the old downtown area of Okeechobee, the staff were friendly and quick to greet us. The food was outstanding! They have a great selection of sandwiches with something...for everyone. I went with a staff member’s recommendation and got the Mousetrap panini, which is like an artichoke lover’s grilled cheese. Yum!!!!! My husband opted for the chicken philly and couldn’t stop remarking how good it was. My father-in-law chose the tuna melt and was very pleased with his selection. And I highly recommend the pasta salad side. Not just your average pasta salad. We will be back!More

Everything homemade and so delicious. Stopped here with family and everybody got something that they wanted and liked. The only concern was that they seemed to be understaffed only one girl working in the kitchen and one girl working the register. I had the quiche...of the day broccoli and cheese- and it was outstanding! Steady stream of loyal customers coming in the door. Highly recommend this place for lunch.More

Yum, the freah salads are delicious and scratch made soups (chicken tortellini) is my FAVOROTE SOUP OF ALL TIME. Try the Italian pressed sandwhich or the thanksgiving...they are fantastic! And then theres desserts amazing!

Stopped in while down in the Big O... what a fantastic find. The panini’s were outstanding! The mix of flavors was unexpected with the variety of ingredients, but spectacular. This is the type of place I wish I have in my hometown.

A small quirky little cafe with good food. I had the Greek salad with chicken. The avocado dressing was yummy! The waitress was a sweet young lady!

Great place to stop while driving across Florida. Relaxing spot with mismatched tables and chairs. Food is all fresh and homemade. I loved the Greek salad with chicken, with house made avocado dressing. Soooo much better than fast food. Just be sure you aren't in...a big hurry.More

Just had lunch there as we passed they Okeechobee. Had the presses pulled pork sandwich which was layered with cheese and slaw. Side dish of a sort of pea salad with bits of egg. Both absolutely delicious. Would strongly recommend.

We enjoyed our sandwiches at the nutmeg's cafe in Okeechobee, FL. Just a block off of Hwy 70. They have a variety of sandwiches on the menu. It was difficult to choose. I selected the Thankgiving, which include turkey, cranberry sauce, cheese and on toasted...bread. We was great. We will stop in again.More

We use several different types - Panini just means that we have grilled it on the panini press. Some of the breads we use are Italian, Rye, Focaccia and white
