Drove up to Punta Gorda as couldn't get in our local but we had been told about the Celtic Ray before. Nice friendly atmosphere, very busy, bar staff great. Chicken curry (spicy) was very tasty, and the fish and chips was to die for, with real chippy vinegar! There was a duo playing a mix of music, Irish and folk... More

We went with the recommended items on the menu : potato leek soup, Guinness stew and fish and chips. The soup was very tasty but lukewarm. The stew and fish and chips were average. Our server was great. There is ample outdoor seating which is nice.

What a unique experience. Just like the pubs in Ireland as I remember them from my trip there. Had the fish and Chips and they were excellent. The cole slaw leaves a little to be desired but the rest was great. Others in our party tried a Pasty and Shepherd's Pie and were all delighted. The "Scotch Egg" egg appetizer... More

Husband and I love this place, have visited several times. Always great fish and chips for him and Guinness stew for me...1554 ale is great too. Soda bread and potato leek soup are delish when we're less hungry. On two recent visits, we enjoyed irish folk music... even on a Sunday afternoon, as well as the very friendly crowd. Its... More

Friendly atmosphere, good pub food, but limited. No brown bread, for one. Fish can be prepared without batter, if requested, but will take a little longer.

We were on our way to Fort Myers and stopped at this wonderful restaurant. The food was great. The atmosphere relaxed. The Guinness was dark and slow. We went for lunch. The restaurant was very crowded with regulars and tourists. There was a three piece band playing traditional Irish music.

Description
FAILTE! [WELCOME!]

The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide!
See you at the Ray, Slainte!
