The Celtic ray is a good pub with some home charm The food is typical pub food and service is quick. You order at the bar and they bring The food to your table. Overall I met some good people and my bill including tax was $35 I paid with credit card and signed for $40. Much to my surprise... More

5 stars for authentic atmosphere, friendly staff, enjoyable musical acts, and great beer and whiskey selections. The food today was a mixed bag - fish and chips only 3 stars but the other entrees (Breton chicken and shepherds pie) were pretty good. Food and drinks are all ordered at the bar but they do serve the food directly to your... More

Good Morning, Could you tell us a little more about your experience? Your title says that you, "can't see through the smoke", but our establishment does not allow smoking of any type inside (we even have "No Vaping" signs inside. You also said our pub was small, but we have three major dining areas, two downstairs (one including the stage... More

Not being much of a beer drinker, I will have to rely on my more experienced family and friends who say the only Guinness comparable comes fresh from the Guinness cow in Dublin. Of real food however, I have eaten my share and the food at the Celtic Ray is spot on wonderful. I wish I could live there just... More

It's always fun and the beers are the way they should be. Once you get over the need to go to the bar to order drinks and food, enjoy.

Large portions. I don't normally link "Irish pub" and "good food" but had to come and write a review. We had the $6 Scotch Egg a couple weeks ago and it came with coleslaw, soda bread, a couple grapes and was delicious. We'd kind of just expected a lonely sausage-y egg to be brought out. Our friend, who had been... More

Really enjoyed my meal at this locally famous place. Had the Reuben which comes in a puffed pastry (pastie), served on a generous helping of Thousand Island dressing and fries on the side. It was excellent! There was a band playing (very good stuff!) and the staff was very friendly. A "must stop" while in Punta Gorda!

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Celtic Ray. Food was very good, definitely a click up from regular pub fare. Draft beer selection was great and featured several satisfying Irish imports. We visited on trivia night which was lots of fun and exceptionally well run. Definitely one of the top spots in Punta Gorda for a casual evening out!

Description
FAILTE! [WELCOME!]

The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide!
See you at the Ray, Slainte!
