We were starving after our trip in to St. Augustine. It was a monday and there were limited restaurants opened. This came up in a search, so we decided to try it. It did not disappoint. We were a party of 8. Two people started...with the gumbo and said it was delicious. Some people ordered cheese steaks and others ordered different sandwiches, like the cuban and the reuben. Everyone enjoyed their sandwich. Nobody left disappointed. The service was fast and friendly. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a good sandwich place.More

Always try to eat here when we visit St Augustine. We arrived this morning from Savannah around 10:45. We walked in and were greeted by the staff and promptly seated. The lady who seated us began to apologize about the things that were being done...at the restaurant. A maintenance crew was installing an air conditioning unit in the kitchen. Our waitress greeted us and took our order. My wife got the chef salad and I got the chef sandwich. This sandwich isn’t on the menu and consists of cheese, turkey and ham with cheese and lettuce. I believe it had ranch dressing on it too. I also tried the cabbage soup and it was delicious. This deli is outstanding!More

Outstanding sandwiches and very filling. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful in making decisions about what to eat. There were three in our party and we had the Monte Cristo, Drake's Last Stand, and Gobble Gobble with a side of fries to share. We...all enjoyed the food immensely. Highly recommend!More

Absolutely enjoyed our visit to this deli! We stopped in around 1130 and it was packed. I parked across the street because their wasn’t any spaces available in their lot. Our waitress was wearing a pair of pink spanx and had a great personality. I...pulled up TripAdvisor and showed her a picture of the sandwich I wanted. It is called the chef and was loaded with ham, Turkey, lettuce and tomato. It also had ranch dressing on it and it was, pardon me, the bomb! My wife got the conquistador and she really liked it. Parking can be a problem but it’s a minor problem with food this good!More

We has a great, late lunch after a full day of touring St. Augustine. We ordered Drake’s Last Stand, a Chicken Cheesesteak, two kinds of chowder, and a grilled cheese. The beer cheese chowder was the star of the meal. It was fantastic. Drake’s Last...Stand was over shadowed by the roll and ended up tasting a little bland. The Chicken Cheesesteak and grilled cheese were fantastic. We were a little disappointed that an order of onion rings meant getting 5 onion rings, but they tasted great. All in all, it was a fun, delicious experience. We would go back and probably stick to all hot sandwiches this time.More

What a find!!! Informal, friendly place for wonderful food. Drake's is a local favorite. I think Drake's does more take away service than eat in. So popular Drake's sold out of soup and desert on our last visit. No problems, Drake's had the sandwiches we...wanted.More

A family owned business that you can clearly see cares about the quality of their food and the service the customers receive! We had tomato mozzarella salad and a turkey reuben. Both were excellent! We will definitely repeat next time in town!

Wanted "cafe" food for lunch after a long morning of site seeing; also wanted to find someplace away from the downtown crowd. Saw this little jewel of a place and decided to give it a try; was greeted immediately upon entering the establishment; very pleasant...hostess and waitress; nice atmosphere. Menu not that expansive, but good items. I ordered the half sandwich with soup combo; my husband ordered a 12 in cheesesteak with fries. My husband enjoyed his meal and though my sandwich was ok (hard to mess up a turkey sandwich), the clam chowder, which looked delicious by the way, was way too salty to enjoy. Aside from the clam chowder issue, we had an enjoyable time.More

These are truly the best sandwiches in town, albeit for take-out only. Truly, they make the best (and biggest) roast beef sandwich I have ever had. I only wish they were closer to my home - I would order from them several times a week.

There were six of us for breakfast two days in a row. We found this little place to be like going to mom's home for breakfast. Food was delicious. Service was cheerful and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're looking for a charming place with good...food at a reasonable price.More

We went to Drake's on our recent trip to St. Augustine. The little one, which was closest to our motel, was closed due to the virus. The main bistro, about a half mile farther, was open. They have inside dining but I did take-out. I...had the Datil pepper steak and my wife had a roast beef on the marble rye. Mine was very good! Good flavor with just the right amount of kick. My wife liked her's except for the seeds in the rye. They were out of some of their cheeses, but it was still worth the trip! Will go there again!More

Went here for lunch based on Trip Advisor reviews and as the reviews said the food was great. My wife and I each had one of their signature sandwiches and both were excellent. Both were large portions with quality ingredients. Lexi was our server and...did a nice job, she was friendly upbeat and service was timely. The only knock was on the women in the kitchen. They were extremely loud, not professional at all and their conversation played out like a soap opera. Very surprised whoever was in charge didn't try and shut it down. Not at all the atmosphere one wants when trying to enjoy lunch. If this is the normal "show" I suggest takeout.More

They have two locations and the one across from our hotel was closed. 1/2 mile north up the main road is a sit down version. Breakfast sandwich was awesome. Service good. They also have a lunch menu available anytime with a large variety of very...tasty sandwiches :)More

We ate at Drake's Deli upon arriving in St. Augustine and were quite happy with the experience. Sandwiches were generous and moderately priced. We dined in and the seating is limited, but there was outdoor seating available also. Drake's is located across San Marcos Avenue...from our motel (Villa 1565) so we ordered take-out other days and picked it up. Everything we ordered was delicious and well made. The counter service was friendly, and I noticed many locals stopping in to pick up "to go" orders. GREAT experience - MUCH BETTER than eating at a chain sandwich shop!!!More

Excellent wraps and chicken salad. Great for taking on the boat. I love the Italian stallion. Both locations serve the same great food.
