It’s the best fine dining restaurant on the island. Food and service are always top notch. Make sure you have a reservation. The filet and seafood bisque are outstanding. The charcuterie board is very good also. The wine list is diverse and reasonably priced. No...liquor, beer and wine only. Service is always friendly.More

We selected La Cocina based on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. It is a pleasant little restaurant with an intimate atmosphere, albeit hard surfaces. When we were there is was not very busy, but with a crowd it would be loud. Service was excellent...and friendly. My wife and I each had an appetizer. I had the spinach salad, very fresh with a delightful herb vinaigrette dressing, and my wife enjoyed the pear salad with blue cheese, caramelized pecans and raspberry vinaigrette. We then shared the excellent honey glazed salmon, with a light sweet glaze and excellent al dente grilled asparagus and charred cauliflower. The bread basket, included, provided a pleasant, but not extraordinary somewhat hard roll. The True Myth Cabernet was a fine accompaniment, but the pièce de résistance was the dark chocolate mousse dessert, served on bed of mango creme with sliced strawberries, whipped cream, and finely chopped nuts (see photo). It was the best dark chocolate mousse I can recall eating. Soft, creamy, not too sweet, and an excellent texture. It is not to be missed. Altogether a lovely evening. Thank you La Cocina.More

Been here twice, a year apart and they are pretty consistent. Great food, great service... not your typical restaurant, Chef prepared with flavors and presentation. A great couples night!

Best food we had in St Augustine. The food was delicious, the most tender shrimp I've had in my life. We were surprised it was in a hotel. Service was ok, nothing to write home about, but THE FOOD. complexity of flavors, quality if meats,...etc. Was really top notch. Didn't consider it overpriced as it was the best restaurant food we had in a long time. I had the gambas and ny spouse had the 1/2 rack of lamb. It is small and crowded... Definitely recommend a reservationMore

Once again had a fabulous dinner at La Cocina. Six of us, all different meals and every one was excellent. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. Very, very professional service that you don't get anywhere else. Ten out of ten stars. I can't say...enough.More

We were looking forward to eating here after seeing photos and reviews but were greatly disappointed. For the price, everything we ordered was bland and overcooked. The pulpo (octopus) was chewy. The lamb was flavorless and overdone. Chicken and pork were blah and the pork...made a family member ill. We ordered other appetizers too but nothing was impressive. The meatballs were fine for a 5 year old. The restaurant awkwardly overlooks hotel guests at the pool. Wish we had chosen a different place to celebrate.More

The food and service was excellent. Every bite was delicious. We were staying Sunday thru Tuesday . The Sunday evening meal was extraordinary, BUT THEY ARE CLOSED ON MONDAY. We chose this hotel specifically for a full service, every day restaurant. Otherwise, 5 stars.

My wife and I started off with Lobster Bisque, followed by the Brie, and finished off with our main course of medium rare fillet mignon, asparagus, and fingerling potatoes. For desert we finished with lemon berry marscapone. Overall, our dinner was very good. This is...a smaller restaurant within a hotel setting. The only thing we were not pleased with is that we had asked for another bread basket which obviously the young lady had forgotten to bring to us.More

We went to this St. Augustine, FL restaurant at suggestion of the friends we were visiting. We were not disappointed. It is located in a nice hotel at 530 A1A Beach Blvd. The menu is varied from steak to pasta, to seafood. Our server, Constanza...was very good. The place was very busy, so reservations on the weekends are a must. The 4 of us had steak, pasta and fish. All were excellent. The restaurant does not have a liquor license, so wine and beer only. It also is not inexpensive. For the 2 of us the tab was $165, including a $26 tip.More

This spot is definitely worth the drive over the bridge from St. Augustine. It is extraordinary to find such a nice restaurant in a small hotel. I started with their shrimp and salmon ceviche. It is not your usual Tex-Mex or Mexican ceviche, but it...is VERY good - very light and flavorful and not too much citrus. For entrees I had their Seafood Cazuela and my wife had their Gambas. Both were excellent. I could eat their Seafood Cazuela every night if I had the chance - it was SO delicious!! The only negative I had is how they choose to seat people with reservations. We arrived at 6:28 for a 6:30 reservation. We could see our future table empty. She told us to go back to the hotel lobby and wait for her to call us by name. She did that for three other parties while we waited. She sat none of us, until she seated us at 6:37pm. The others had to wait even longer. Our server came to our table promptly, so promptly that we had not had sufficient time to study the menu before ordering. If the hostess had seated us when we had arrived, we could have used the same 10 minutes to study the menu and be prepared when the server asked what we wanted.More

I had the rack of Lamb, well prepared decently spiced and a reasonable portion my companion had the sea bass also well spiced. We tried the pear salad, it was different and appreciated.

I cant say this was an extraordinary place to eat. First best for reservations which makes sense considering it is pretty small in a busy hotel . They had outdoor seating but I gather it’s out of service due to the last storm. The noise...level is high and as another reviewer mentioned probably from the tile and just general acoustics of the single dining room. The customer service was quite good and attentive and food came out promptly. As for the food is was good and I had seafood cazuela and it was rather on the small portioned side, small mussels etc. Price was a tad high. Anyhow it was still a nice experience, makes sense for those staying at the hotel.More

We had a lovely dinner here. The restaurant is small and quite noisy due to the tile floor. Reservations are a must as it was a full house the night we were there. The lobster bisque is sublime, full of lobster flavor and cream. I...wanted to take a bath in it. The chorizo stuffed fried yucca with a thick remoulade-type sauce was very good and not at all greasy, but also very heavy. It would make a great lunch with a salad, but was too much for an appetizer. The Argentine red shrimp on cauliflower purée was just ok. The purée was delicious, but the shrimp were served with a blackening spice that overwhelmed their delicate flavor. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The menu says the accompanying asparagus is grilled, but it was steamed. Also, the menu says the other side is confit fingerling potatoes. Instead, we had mini potatoes roasted with rosemary and quite a lot of salt. I loved them, but some may say they are too salty. Note that this restaurant serves beer and wine only, no spirits.More

Very warm welcome and seated at a intimate table. Our servers were genuinely pleasant and the service was spot on! Hubby had the lobster bisque and I had the Cordero (lamb meatballs) sooo yummy. For entrees, hubby had the Chilean Sea Bass, because yeah it...was our 47th wedding anniversary and I had the Gambas (blackened red shrimp). Delicious and beautiful presentation.More

Service was excellent. They have a nice wine list. Food was wonderful. We shared the octopus appetizer which was good, not great. I had the lobster ravioli and it was very good. The portion was very large and more than I could eat. My fiance...had the duck and it was also very good and a generous portion. We shared the dolce de leche cake for dessert and it was divine. We would eat here again.More
