Capping a full day visiting the island, we stopped by Doc's at 6:00. The 70 minutes wait (in season) was worth it! Doc's moved to their current location September 2016. 2 bars with big screen TV's provide a nice way to pass the time. The upstairs bar is a bit smaller and the place locals hang out. The downstairs bar,... More

We went for dinner twice during our 1+ weeks on Sanibel Island. Both times our table shared the Yucatan Shrimp: a huge plate of shrimp in the shells and in a wonderfully addictive medium-spicy sauce. The recipe starts with 4 tablespoons of butter, so what could go wrong? Everyone loved their entree; I had the Shrimp and (jalapeño cheese) Grits.... More

My wife and I went with friends for lunch at Doc Ford's recently. We sat outside and the 80 degree weather and sunshine was quite a contrast to the 20 degrees and overcast sky back home. The location is attractive and this is a pretty new facility (or so it appears). Service was fine and the food was ok. I... More

My wife and I have been visitors to Sanibel for the last 30 years. It has only been in the past year that we ate at Doc Fords Rum Bar & Grille. We were not disappointed at all! The restaurant was out on the corner of Rabbit Road and Sanibel Captiva Road, but has moved to a newly built location... More

According to a yearly visitor to Sanibel, this is a new location that is only a few months old. The original location has been on the island for years. The new space is gorgeous and spacious. The service is great and the food was wonderful.

This place is good! The Yucatan shrimp is to die for. The seared tuna appetizer was really good. The service was a little lacking- I don't like having to ask for water 3 times.

We had the best salads-Southwest chicken & Taco chicken with possibly the best server, Peter. Can't wait to go back.
