My husband and I stopped by about 5:30pm on a Friday evening to find a bustling place. We were asked if we had reservations and I can see why! We did not and they took us anyhow. We both ordered enchiladas which were excellent. They are moving to a new location 5 minutes down the street so perhaps it won't... More

Incredible flavors, reasonable prices, really good service. Would have given it 5 stars except this was the second time there in two weeks and both times I had to flag down a waitress for a drink refill and both times I never got one. This is obviously not elegant dining but in its category it is fabulous. Always mobbed, make... More

We lived in Southern CA for 25 years before moving to Sarasota area in 2005 so have some experience with Mexican food. Tried a bunch of places with not so great experiences, all mostly standard tacos, enchiladas, burritos etc. Someone recommended El Toro Bravo and we gave it a try and have been going there occasionally ever since. The food... More

Having lived in Az for 30 years, I'm searching for those Tex-Mex flavors I crave. We tried El Toro Bravo. Not the flavors I was looking for. The salsa was good. Chips- average. Chimichanga- strange- not deep fried. Just a burrito, basically. Server was very good and efficient. Fajitas- average. Guacamole- good. Doubt I'll go back. But, they are very... More

We are sorry the flavors you were looking for were not found at our establishment. Our restaurant is catered more toward Southwestern Mexican cuisine. We try as best we can to cook our dishes in canola oil and avoid lard, much of which is responsible for the traditional Tex-Mex taste. We greatly appreciate the time you took to post and... More

The wife claimed these were the best tacos(soft) she ever experienced. I imensely enjoyed my enchilada dinner as well. Judy went the extra mile to get us seated without reservations for Valentine's day. Lisa made our 1st experience a memorable one with her excellent service. It is customary to offer 1st time guests a special treat, so mention that you... More

We went here based on the good reviews. There were some negative reviews too but decided to be our own judge. It is a very busy place and very small. They are moving end of Feb and that will make this a lot better to get seating. My husband had Chili Colorado and I had #3 with choice of enchiladas,... More

We love El Toro Bravo. Friendly and helpful wait staff, which comes from the top down. Reuben and Connie have hearts of gold, love people and it shows. Any item we have ordered on the menu has been so delicious! My favorite is the Guadalajara. I love Hatch chilis and when possible they are part of the entree served. They... More

My grandparents discovered El Toro a few years back when they moved to Sarasota and have been taking me ever since. I now live in St. Pete and try to get down there as often as possible because it is a staple in my life now. El Toro is the best authentic Mexican food I have ever had and my... More

We eat Mexican food at least once a week. The food here is very tasty. Perfectly spiced for our taste. Wait staff is quite efficient and pleasant. We no longer need to search for a good Mexican restaurant.
