Great place - many many flavors - they make homemade waffles cones right there - ice cream very creamy and lots of flavors - there is an area for many tables and chairs if you wish to escape the heat and eat inside. HUGE scoops!!!

Like many other things in this great country, American ice cream is a bit over the top, packed with all sorts of flavors, nuts, fudges, ... and far from the much more simple Italian gelato, but if you like that (too) the one served at...More

There are plenty of good ice cream parlors in the Sarasota area to help residents and tourists get relief from the 90-degree heat in June and July. Kilwin's and Big Olaf's are two of the best and most successful. But don't forget the Orange Octopus,...More

I asked if they made their own ice cream, no, but they get it from a local creamery and OMG the butter pecan and double chocolate mixed together in a waffle cone, YUMMY!

We took our family for ice cream at the Orange Octopus. Such a cute little place and really great ice cream. The staff was friendly.

Wish we found this place earlier. Close to where we are staying and better than Big Olafs. I will definitely come back here!

The older facility behind Capt Curt's gives this place an old island feel. There are a few tables inside and benches outside on which to sit and enjoy. Many flavors of ice cream and sundaes and larger portions than Abels.

We came back here two more times after our first visit during our vacation. That's how good it was! The ice cream is hand-dipped and the portions are generous. All of the servers were very clean and fastidious about maintenance of the ice cream tubs...More

This old fashioned, family owned coffee and ice cream shop is located in Captain Curt's Village a few hundred yards south of the Stickney point (south bridge). It is beside the bike and kayak rental shop. They are super friendly and have a gourmet coffee bar, 24 flavors of hand churned, homemade ice cream. It is my favorite local coffee shop! I've never left disappointed.
