The grits that came with my breakfast had to be several days old. They were hard and had some unknown substance in them. When I pointed it out to the waitress, she said it was probably melted plastic. It was the nastiest meal I have ever been served.

Be warned. The only chef who knew how to cook has left this location and transferred to Destin. The senior waitresses have also moved on, either to Destin or elsewhere. What remains at this Shalimar restaurant is nothing but disappointments and frustration.
Have eaten here over the last 12 years when in town. Always reliable. Staff changes and they have remained well trained and efficient. Tipical Waffle House.
Service was excellent, food was good and hot although didn't care for the jalapeño biscuits. Fiesta omelet was really good as were the loaded hash browns. Grits were too thick. Our server Kathy was most excellent.
