Interesting and sometimes quirky twists on French cuisine await here. The surroundings are kind of fuddy-duddy, but pleasant enough. But the food is really unusual for its kind. For example, how often do you find a duo of lamb chops and quail, or lamb and pork pate with pickled okra? It's well worth the trip to this strip mall for... More

I was recently in Tallahassee for business and wanted to try something different from the other restaurants in town. This was my first visit to A la Provence but I will return when in town again. The only problem I had was locating it in the first place. My GPS took me to the general area but I had to... More

Good food, nice ambience, if a little pricey. We went out with a group of 17. Average check was about $150 per couple with wine. No happy hour. We liked the old Ambassador Meal deal for $59 you got a bottle of decent wine, 2 entrees, split an appetizer and dessert. That's gone, so it's a la carte. Salmon is... More

I am just delighted to give my opinion on this, my favorite in Tallahassee. Always greeted beautifully, service is excellent and all the food is outstanding. Either Luncheon of dinner, or just a drink and salad in the bar, it's above and beyond.

We chose this restaurant, as we usually do when visiting an unfamiliar city, based on the tripadvisor reviews. The numerous excellent ratings for A la Provence were spot on! My husband and I split a warm spinach salad with pancetta and chèvre, which was more like a lightly sautéed appetizer in that the spinach was more than just wilted. We... More

My wife had been to the restaurant for lunch on a few occasions so I thought it might be nice to try the restaurant for Valentine’s Day. As we approached the restaurant, there was a large conspicuous sheet of paper on the window saying something about how “Under no circumstances will we accept a Restaurant.com certificate.” It seemed a bit... Another one of Tallahassee's locally owned restaurants that is just delicious. Bill the owner is always gracious with a smile on his face. Staff is excellent, especially Charlie at the bar. Have to try their local fish dishes. Steaks are delicious too. I always start with the chopped salad. Wonderful wine selection.

I won't comment on their food, besides saying that it was very good. What I want to point out about A la Provence is that this restaurant has a unique atmosphere - quaint and welcoming, perfect for a romantic dinner or dinner with friends, when you want to have a nice conversation without shouting over loud music or restaurant noise.... We went right after New Year's and benefited from the post-holiday lull - we were one of only two parties, and a third solo diner arrived while we ate - so our experience may not have been typical, but it was very enjoyable. Dinner was delicious. We started with a warm spinach salad and both had fish entrees, perfectly cooked.... More

We went to this place the first vacation day (before thanksgiving day) and the food was awesome! We had a 4 course meal starting with onion and chef soup for entré lamb and duck breast. A two cheese board come as the third course with bread and olives. For dessert the Cremem Brulee and the Chocolate Gourmandaise. Excelent service also.
