Great café con leche and Cuban toast with melted butter. Ask for the "special of the day" and be amazed at what you get (how much and for how little price)

While visiting my daughter at FSU I started craving a good Cuban coffee. We found this gem and were very happy. The cafe con leche was perfect and served at a great temperature. The cortaditos were larger than we usually get in South Florida and were also delicious. We had just eaten breakfast so we did not sample the food... More

The mojo pork and ropa vieja are amazing here. While I love the empanadas and tostones, they're often saturated with oil, so I don't make it here as often as I might. The service is great and prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for Latin food.

The meat on the cuban sandwich was freshly sliced. it could have cooked a minute longer because cheese wasn't quite melted, it was still delicious. The server was quick to tell us what they were out of and about their specials. Good place for lunch. Atmosphere is lacking

The food was pretty good but very dry. I had the padomilla with beans and rice. It was a lot to eat but I would have liked some sauce or gravy. I would probably not go back. Service was good and staff nice

I love Cuban food. I got a Living Social Deal ($10 for $20 meal), so even though it's across town, what the heck. And the reviews on TripAdvisor were pretty good. This is on Pensacola Street across from the Publix center is a strip center that has a Vietnamese restaurant, a tax preparer, and a nail shop. On entering, I... More

We found this Jewel last trip to Tallahassee (Sept 2013). We had enjoyed it then, so we thought we try again. This time was even better than the last. I had the Cuban style steak with yellow rice & plantains. My girlfriend had the Shredded Pork with white rice & Tostones. (forgive my spelling). And they made, fresh to order,... More

I am not Latin and I know nothing about Latin food but this place does good cubans and has delicious french fries. The staff is also very friendly and the service is quick.

I mean honestly, there are thousands of "Mexican" or "Latin" restaurants out there, but this one is just the real deal. Having many friends of Latin decent, even they can attest to its authenticity and scrumptiousness. Latin Xpress Café has authentic food at a wonderful price. They have a very pleasant staff and a decent location somewhat near FSU. If... More

Most people in Tallahassee will tell you if you are looking for Latin food in Tallahassee to go to Gordos. I have been there and it doesn't even compare to Latin Xpress. I've tried a lot of things on the menu here and they are all delicious, but I am loyal to the Cuban Sandwich. The food is always prepared... More
