This place has very little parking and what they have is difficult to maneuver in during most open hours. During peak times, 5:30 to 7:30, takes forever to get a table and they don’t take reservations. On top of that, they only take cash. It’s...More

Visiting my daughter’s family in Tampa, had a hankering for pizza and she recommended Cappy’s. Wow!!! Awesome pizza, casual laid back atmosphere with 6 or 8 handles of draft beer. New York or Chicago style pizza. Very good!

We had some friends take us here for our first experience. My wife and I love thin crust pizza, and Cappy's made one of the best we have had. Salads served family style were great and added to the price to value ratio. The restaurant...More

Hmmm... a local recommended and it met up with expectation! The staff is superior and friendly! The salad was so fresh. I had never had Chicago style pizza before- it is really good but I think I would’ve liked NY style better! Still I would...More

Never having eaten a Chicago-style deep dish puzza, we read the reviews and decided to try Cappy's in South Tampa. It was hard to find the restaurant because the signage was not lit up and hidden somewhat behind tree branches. Parking was a nightmare too...More

I'm probably super behind the times but I just found out today that Cappy's has gluten free pizza and I'm over the moon excited! I went over tonight and it was even better than I hoped for. The crust has some chew to it and...More

We are new to Tampa but have been wanting to try out Cappy's for months and finally had a free night to check it out! We ordered the New York Style pizza - very good but did not quite beat our hometown favorite Gusano's so...More

This place is awesome. Taste like Gino's in Chicago. They just serve pizza and they do it properly. Almost brought a tear to My eye I thought I would never taste another Chicago pizza again.

We got carry-out at the recommendation of our AirBNB hosts. The pizza was delicious, I especially loved the sauce, but the real highlight for me was waiting for my pizza and chatting with the staff who were so friendly. The quirky ambiance was also terrific....More

We generally get our food here take out, only occasionally eating in the restaurant. I think the deep dish pizza is excellent - which is important because I don't know of another place in the neighborhood that makes it. Salads are very good, too. The regular...More

Hello! Small dogs are always welcome out on the patio- however, Tampa palms does not have an official patio. Seminole heights, st Pete and Brandon Cappys are all patio-dog friendly.

Description
Wanting a cozy place to enjoy a cold beer and a really good pizza, My husband & I opened the original Cappy's while we were still in college. That was almost 19 years ago. Since then, we have been blessed with a fantastic staff- some of whom have moved on to open their own partnership Cappy's stores! With locations in South Tampa (the original), Seminole Heights, St Pete, Brandon, Tampa Palms and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (I know, but it is my home town) we strive to maintain a relaxed, homey atmosphere. We specialize in pizza, but we do serve a mean greek salad, breadsticks and cheesebread. Our philosophy is to keep it simple, and excel in what we do best- which is pizza. We do, however, pride ourselves with an extensive micro/import beer selection. So, come join us for a delicious pie and maybe a beer that you've never heard of. Oh, and bring the kiddos- we are family friendly!
