Service was slow. The lobster bisque so-so, the coleslaw above average and the Haddock sandwich (grilled) outstanding.

We were taken here by a friend from our home town on the South coast of Mass. And though I was skeptical I went in with a fairly open mind- the location in a strip mall would be difficult to find, I think, but once you are there it is well worth it. I had the lobster roll (knuckles and... More

The clam chowder was like a little taste of Maine or New England...the whole belly clam roll was like a mini vacation to Bar Harbor... we will be back soon.... next up scallops.

I travel 45 minutes from Bradenton to Venice monthly for the best clams that I have found in 13 yrs living in Fl. All the seafood is cooked to perfection and it is fairly priced with ample servings.I highly recommend this location for anyone who misses seafood from the Northeast. You will not be disappointed.

I don't want to hurt their ratings and we drove over an hour as it was highly recommended to us as former Mainahs...but could NOT find this place!! GPS kept leading us to Hungry Howies and a thriftstore. After circling 41 6 times and nearly getting rear-ended, we gave up. No seafood for us. Disappointed.

We were referred to A Bit of Boston by friends from Boston. We are from the Ipswich, MA area so we know great seafood. This family run restaurant is serving excellent fresh New England seafood. We opted for the New England Clam Chowda, which was served hot and had real flavor, rich and creamy with lots of clams. The Fried... More

If you like your fish or shimp with crispy batter, then this is not for you. Staff are friendly, fish (cod or haddock) are excellent but without the crispy batter the fish was not a good catch for me.

Arrived early (5:15) on a Saturday evening before regulars and reservations started coming in. There were some tables open but by the time we ordered the place was full and a waiting line in the "lobby". Servers were young men a little overwhelmed by questions about the sources of the seafood but polite and helpful. The New England clam chowder... More

YUM!!!! As a Boston native, I LOVE whole belly fried clams. I grew up going to Kelly's at Revere Beach and also going to Woodman's in Essex Mass. The owner of Bit of Boston grew up in Lynn and knew how to fry the clams perfectly. They were not greasy or overly battered. The funny thing was the waitress was... More
