Food was very good, a larger portion of black beans this time and they were about as good as black beans get in a restaurant. The service was excellent (wish I remembered his name, our server has taken care of us a few times and is always happy and smiling) and we enjoy the piano player as well. On some... More

you know that Don Ramon's has been around for a long time when you enter, look over to your right and see a large poster of Ernest Hemingway, his son Jack, Spencer Tracy and others sitting in a Havana bar during the filming of Hemingway's 'Old Man and the Sea'. There's a tiny 'retro' bar to the right and a... More

Mariquitas are mighty fine! Three of us are out for lunch at Don Ramon. Apparently it’s part of a small local chain. They have their own parking lot which is very convenient on Dixie Highway. The interior has a couple of rooms with lots of Havana photos and other memorabilia on the wood walls. We start with a plate of... More

Never been to a Cuban restaurant before but so glad I went! The waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable and on top of everything. We all greatly enjoyed our dishes and would come back often if we lived close. Certainly a keeper of a restaurant.

This is a good find. The food is tasty. The decor and atmosphere are very casual--like a cafeteria --rustic and outdated. It's not fancy at all. The wait staff are nice but take too long to bring out drinks and food. Since the food is good, the other stuff as impt.

The plantains were very sweet and nicely done! I ordered the chicken empanazada and it came out as a crispy but tender delicious sheeth. The crowds were low so we were immediately seated and served. If you are in a time crunch, this might be the place for a quick and good cuban bite.

The food was excellent! I had a ceviche appetizer, mojito, and seafood entree. The entree was a more expensive item on the menu, but so worth it! It was loaded with seafood, and came with rice, beans, and plantains. The flavor of everything was awesome and unique. They waiters are also nice looking, pleasant, and dress up with vest/tie:)
