Located in the tiny village of La Caunette, about 5 minutes from the pittoresque town of Minerve, is la Cave, run by 3 sisters for the last 6 years. The restaurant is in a converted wine cellar which has been very sympathetically restored. The large space has been made more intimate by raising one section. There are 3 evening menus:... More

My 4th visit in 5 years and my first outside. Lunch is excellent value at 15€ including their own wine and coffee. Always fresh produce, always inventive and served in interesting crocks and glasses. Perhaps my favourite village restaurant in France.

I went there with the wife and kids for a Saturday diner. The first menu at 20euro featured Sardine which is one of the cheapest fish around... On top of that the kids menu was Melon Pizza and Melon + ham + dries for 12euro... Definitely not worth it.

You should go OUT OF YOUR WAY to experience the Cave in La Caunette. We visited here in June, but I've been negligent in not providing an adequate review of the quality of this restaurant. Over a month later, I fondly recall the friendliness of the service, the ambience, and the good taste. Other reviewers note the either/or menu at... More

An excellent out of the way historic little village with this gem of a restaurant run by three sisters. A very well appointed inside dining space on two level as well as outside decked space in the village 'main street'. We had the menu at about €16. We both had the most unusual but delightful gespachio. My partner had a... More

We haven't visited Restaurant La Cave for a three or four years and were a little disappointed in our meal. Our last few visits were very enjoyable, good service and excellent dishes. The restaurant's atmosphere and presentation are still excellent. The rest room was spotless. The cutlery and crockery and tableware are a cut above. The service is still excellent... More

On the way to Minerve in the Languedoc you will come across a small picturesque village built along the embankment of a gorge called La Caunette. You approach the village square over a small road bridge. On the left you will see a building with a large vigneron doorway that has been glazed over - this is a restaurant called... More

we found this restaurant in the village of La Caunette attracted by the very old church at the entrance to this charming little village. It is run by three sisters one serving and two cooking. We had the 15.50 euro lunch menu and sat outside. Service was good, since we were the first there. Lovely carafe of white wine from... More

We went with friends, who knew the restaurant well. The inside is very nice and stylish. The starter and dessert were fine, but the main course was a bit rough and ready. Big pieces of veal, which made too large a portion, although it was very tender, accompanied by some nice mashed potato, but with a lump of carrot, which... More

In a classic picturesque French village we found a meal of superb quality and great value. We paid 20 Euros for dinner and the deal included local wine. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great. We chose to eat inside - an impressive architect designed space on two levels with a decorative nod to the regions main industry... More
