The food (tacos, in particular) were amazing (worthy of 5 stars), but you'd never know it, looking at the location (worthy of 2 stars). Be brave! Be adventurous! It was worth it! The salsa was mediocre, and the guacamole needed salt, but OMG! Those tacos!!! I even made a second visit with my son, who is stationed at Fort Benning.

Amazing food. It is a hole in the wall, so don't expect great service, or even English language. But prices are great, portion are large, and taste is amazing. Shrimp soup is something!

Me and my husband just got here from San Diego and was happy when we came across this place with good reviews. Just KNEW we were going to get the real deal especially since the majority of them didn't speak English really. We were SO disappointed:( Shrimp taco didn't have nothing but shrimp and cilantro it looked like and had... More

As everyone says "don't let the outside keep you away". You enter a grocery store and wander through to the back where there is a crowded dining room. Primarily locals were there for lunch. You know it's authentic when menudo is on the menu and very little English is spoken. Don't worry the menu is in English and you can... More

Stopped on our way home to birmingham. I used to live in California and Texas so I love a good taqueria. We started with the guacamole which was freshly prepared to order. Perfect. Then we had tacos: Carne Asada, Barbacoa and roasted pork. My kids had the carne Asada on flour tortillas. We ordered a side of avocado and sour... More

I had to wait 20 minutes to have a waitress taking my order. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, it was the worst shrimp cocktail I ever had. The sauce is spicy ketchup only mixed with water to make it liquid. The shrimps looked and tasted like thaw precooked shrimps (the one you can buy from supermarkets) and, they were mushy.... More

Like most of the other reviews, the restaurant is in a grocery store so I was unsure I was in the right place. The restaurant is in the back right corner of the store. It is amazing food. Not greasy, or watered down. They have a lot of good choices. Of you are looking for real Mexican this is the... More

As previous posts... don't let the outside scare you off. It is really in the back of a grocery store. Food is truly authentic, not Americanize & not a large menu. Fajitas don't come out in a sizzling cast iron frying pan and don't ask for a taco salad (like my mom did, server had no idea what she was... More
